I am wanting to add a power seat to my 2024 F150XL. I have read most of the post and don't think there will be a problem doing it.
My question is, can you buy the power seat bottom and add your manual upper seat to it? Or do you need the upper and lower power seat for the recline to work correctly?
I know they bolt together in the middle.
The one pictured below is cheaper than the whole seat.
Thanks in advance!

I like everything about the STX trim EXCEPT the manual seats. Specifically not being able to raise the driver seat and i feel like im sitting on the floor. Assuming the STX shares the wiring harness of higher trim level trucks, couldn’t a OEM power seat or seat base plug into the harness? I’d like to think it’s that simple - hoping to hear from anyone with insight on this topic.

Most people have had success just plugging a power seat in. In the worst case if that does not work, you simply connect a power and ground to the seat and it works fine.
there are plenty of write ups and videos on this,.

What did you decide to do with the seat install ? Are you doing the seat bottom bolt on to existing back or ?

So far the only thing I came up with is there are different part numbers for the seat backs. That does not mean it will not work, but it also does not look positive.
I probably will buy the whole seat and not take the chance. I will report back when I remove the covers and let everyone know if I could have saved money or not.
I am attaching a picture from ford parts that showed the two seat backs.

I just bought a 10 way seat out of a 2023 XLT salvaged truck with the airbags blown. I'm hoping I can switch everything over and be good.

I Have some news on the 2024 F150 XL seat swaps. My new to me 2021 power driver and passenger seats arrived after a couple of day through shipping.
I pulled the drivers seat last night and all the wiring looked to match in the pins on both seats, so I dropped the 10way power seat in the truck and plugged it up. I'll be damed, it worked like a champ. All of the switches worked correctly including the lumbar.
I will try the passenger tonight and then move my seat foam and leather seat covers over to the power bases.
I hope this helps you guys that are on the fence about the swap. I will add, my 2021 seats were not memory seats, I had the recking yard confirm this.
If anyone wants some manual seat bases let me know, mine are headed for the dumpster soon!

@MGF150 I'm in the same boat, the stock STX driver seat is horrible and need an adjustable.

For more details to a noob here. Where did you find the seats to purchase?

Once you had it in hand, you simply removed the cover and foam form the old seat, replaced it with your new truck's fabric cover and foam (no issues there, straight forward process?), and then simply proceeded to bolt and plug it in w/o any issues and it works like a top?

I appreciate the time and beta

I found the seats eBay for $700.00 for both sides in 10 way power. I had been looking for at least a month and this was the best deal I had found. They came from a car wrecking yard that had their phone number on the ad. I called them and they guaranteed them to work properly or my money back. They shipped them on July the third and I received them on July 9th. They where packaged very well.
Last night I just double checked the wiring on my factory seat to the power seat to make sure everything was the same. It was, so I plugged the power seat in and the seat functioned perfectly.
I have not moved my leather seat covers to the power seat yet, I will get started on that tonight. There are plenty of videos out there to watch for instruction. Hopefully I will finish the driver seat tomorrow night and start working on the passenger seat.
I have not tested the passenger seat yet, but I will tonight and let everyone know if it is plug and play as well.

I have been working a lot of hours and not making speedy progress on my seat install. I did get the power driver seat stripped down last night and found a bonus. These seats had the factory heat.
Now I will take apart my seat and make sure the foam looks the same. If it is the same shape I can put my leather covers on this foam and keep the heated seats. The next option is to move the heaters to my seat foam. I might do this anyway, so I can use my new seat and not a used one.

I finished the 10 way power drivers seat swap this weekend. Changing the seat cover and foam was a bitch, my hands are still sore.
I also started on the passenger seat and figured out that the power is not there on that side of the truck to run the seat. I will check and make sure this week when I gut the truck for the console and dynamite installation. If it is not there I will simply run a 12v wire and a ground to the seat. I did verify the seat works by applying power and ground to it.
I guess I will not mess with the heated seat deal if the passenger side does not have the wiring on that side of the truck
I also took pictures of the side of the powered and non powered seats. You could use the power bottom, but the upper has the motor mounted to it, so you would need an upper powered base as well.

SInce your not using the heated seat option, are the harnesses still connected under the seat to the elements or did you disconnect them? I'm doing the EXACT same swap and do not know that if I leave the elements plugged up to the harness on the bottom of seat, they may come on somehow and if I leave them disconnected, the power seats wont operate. Please let me know, thanks!

If I remember correctly, the heated seat is on a different plug. Either way, I just plugged mine in and did not worry about it.

Is there an issue if the seats are memory? I am unsure if mine are, I just picked mine up earlier and already tore apart the pass side, did you swap airbags or just leave the bags in from the power seats? Mine are heated too, I wish we had a solution for getting them to work through OEM integration.
