Oops. I had a 2023 with the Tailgate release. Now I have a 2025 without it. I updated my profile as I missed changing the year until you mentioned it.

I checked the wiring on the 2023 powerboost and then on the new 2025. The same connector and wires (visually) are present. This is why I believe we should be able to activate the switch somewhere in a module. If we can find this, I'm sure many people want the tailgate button back. :)

I took the risk of getting the parts and installing to make testing easier. If all else fails, there is a hard-wire workaround provided in this thread. I'm comfortable doing that however I hate cutting factory wiring. I like to avoid that if possible.
I was unable to find a configuration which would do this. On the power tailgate, the lock is controlled by the RGTM module inside the tailgate. There is no detection of the RGTM in FORScan. There is no configuration I can find in either the BCM or IPC (the other modules involved). It is likely that, as you see from the wiring diagram, the wire is missing from one of the inter-connects leading from the BCM to the RGTM. Investigating the wiring is all I can suggest at this point.

Was about to look at FORScan to see if I could verify the tailgate option, figured I'd verify the harness first. I dropped the Stop/Start switch, hoping to find a blank harness like the one you show in your photos. Looks to be attached to my S/S button. Didn't see another one in that area. The wire colors appear to be the same as yours. I assume this means no go for me. Since you have a PB and NO S/S, maybe it works for you, no idea. Maybe there's something inside the switch that tells the truck what it wants to do? Haven't seen the inside of one of these switches.

Interesting to note that your brown wire is in the first or last pin, but MDCheddar's brown wire is located in the second pin location. Could this be a difference for Stop/Start vs Tailgate?

On my 2023 powerboost with a working tailgate button, the wires are different colors, but the #1 pin is vacant as it is on MD Cheddar's.
