I just got an email from my dealer that Ford is telling them that Active Park Assist has to be removed to get the truck scheduled. (I have a Platinum Powerboost on order) I don’t necessarily have a problem with that but they are saying that it will have to resubmitted and subject to all price increases. This just sounds crazy to me.

They're wrong. The only things that trigger a price increase would be a powertrain change or trim level change (going from an XLT to a Lariat for example).

The dealer has all the leverage here, which sucks. They can file the claim with Ford and not pass the refund to the customer.

It is amazing how many dealers and their employees are untrained in Ford's processes.

Unfortunately this certainly could be an attempt to get more money out of you. Then they could also pocket the Ford price protection as the sale would still be in the name of the person who ordered the truck. It is my understanding that the invoice price protection payment delta is automatically sent to the dealer regardless of what they charge you.

Removal of Park assist means no Blue Cruise. Not sure if people realize or care but it’s something to know

Yea I don’t believe that is a correct statement. In many cases bluecruise is an add on option and it is a lot more expensive than a $365 credit. If that were the case it would be Blue Cruise Active removal since it is its own line item on the WS

Maybe this is how Chapman is trying to get around the 3% under invoice. Seems shady to me based on what everyone posted. Thanks for the help.

I don’t want to loose blue cruise so I will have to look into that.

Ok

what do I know, I should say you may be right. As of now its been a prerequisite that is why the raptors dont have it. Maybe ford figured it out but the active park assist is something that has been an absolute requirement.

Be interested to see. Either way its something to look at and make sure.

When I removed it, my dealer said it specifically pertains to the Active Park Assist feature and nothing else.

Co-Pilot Active 2.0 is what gives you blue cruise and is a separately invoiced option.

I’ll let you know what my WS shows when it comes out of chip hold, which it will hit 3 weeks in that status tomorrow. But I had also talked to my dealer about it when it first came out about the removal and if it would impact anything else and he told me no

APA 2.0 Removal only pertains to the Park Assist feature. Bluecruise remains on orders submitted with the feature. This is specifically explained in the notice from Ford to dealerships indicating Bluecruise availability. Also, Bluecruise is indeed part of the Active Co-Pilot 2.0 package which is completely separate from Adaptive Park Assist 2.0.

Speaking from experience, in all honestly the Active Park Assist is a "party trick" but not super practical. Where it would be MOST handy is in a dense city where you have to parallel park on a surface street. BUT to use it you have to enable it, cruise super slowly to let it pick up the spot (drive past it in the case of parallel), then let it do its thing.

I have not once been able to use it in a city where there are cars that have to go around you, or that creep behind you so you can't back into the space, or they won't tolerate you going slowly to let the truck find the spot. Plus bikes, buses, etc. I've only used it a few times, by myself (my wife would not have the patience to watch some AI try to park us), on neighborhood streets.

Only other place it would be useful (for me) is my condo's parking garage, which is perpendicular parking in a narrow spot with pillars and other cars around. It would be GREAT but it does not detect my spot. I don't know if its the concrete walls or the density of surrounding cars but it does not think there is a spot there so I have to manually back it in anyway.

Just throwing that out there in case it makes anyone feel better.
