AC / Heat calibration?

Hey all,

This may be dumb, but i have noticed that it is difficult to get a good temp setting in my PB. In all my other cars, i can set cabin temp to somewhere around 68-70 and the auto setting works great. Never have to adjust it hardly. However, in this truck, when it is cold out 68 deg setting in truck turns it into a sauna. Then when its warm out, 68 freezes me out! lol. Is it just me?

Same on my 2023. Found a lot of complaints about it, but no definitive fix. One dealer replaced temperature sensor(s) which fixed it for one person, but it wasn't clear which ones.

ok, whew, so i am not the only one then! LOL. I guess i will have the dealer look into it when i take it in for service.

My blower is always on 5 w/ face/feet vents active. 64 seems to be good for me on heat and 66 on cool. I prefer cooler temps, but also use heated seats and wheel in the cold. I don't think there's a temp sensor for the feet duct nor near the feet area so it'll be a bit warmer. There's a temp/humidity sensor in the overhead console and in the face hvac ducts. The feet areas seem to have been overlooked.

Yeah I have the problem too. It’s too reliant on what the outside temperature is for deciding what kind of air to blow. I tend to like it cooler and recently on a long trip, setting it to 60 wasn’t cool enough because it was 47 outside. On the way back it was 65 outside and I was cold while set at 70

Is this auto mode or manual?

I used auto in almost all my last ford's. Worked well, the expedition worked really well. The 21 f250 and 22 king ranch
It seemed or seems to never be cool enough etc. I mention the gone 21 f250 as it had the same dash layout in the 22 f150...and same anemic air flow in drivers left dash register
So I use manual , temp and fan
I also in summer on longer drives will select dash vents and floor to keep legs snd toes comfy
I also prefer the temp setting in summer of "hang chickens" cold

My previous 3 F-150s all did a better job of regulating the temp in “Auto,” and I too believe the current generation places too much emphasis on the outside temp.

I haven't because in my truck it takes a pretty long drive to become an issue in my truck. My usual 40 minutes to work is usually fine. If I go an hour+, it'll get super hot and I need to set it to LO to get it to blow any cold air.

Same issue with mine. My 09 was much better at holding a steady temp.

This is my first truck with Auto control. Worked not bad so far. Were sometimes I went manual. Those times were when I had 4 or 5 people in the cab. Will keep a closer watch on it this summer. Also, not in a real high summer temperature area of Canada.

I guess I am not the only one who is having this issue!

By fiddling with the temp dial, I can achieve the temperature that feels comfortable which tells me the AC as well as the heater actually work.

However, there is little corelation between the temperature shown on the screen VS the actual temperature.. There are days when 68 is a comfortable temperature and there are days when 76 is a comfortable temperature..

I do wish Ford would find a solution!

Problem on my 2023 Powerboost as well. It’s been to the dealer 3 times for this, first time they replaced the temp sensor by the inside rear view mirror, second time they did a scan on vent temps and sent it to Ford Hotline, third time they were advised by Ford Hotline and found a wire harness with loose pins, replaced harness and was working okay. It’s definitely related to outside ambient temp readings because now that it has warmed up it works perfect. Anything below 7 Celsius and it cooks me in the cab. Even if I manually adjust the temp it still doesn’t work. Ill wait until it gets cold again and bring it back to complain.
