3-4 times I've gotten in the truck (Lariat Trim) started the engine and the AC button lights up and starts blowing cold air. I didn't use the remote start and the AC was off when I shut the truck down the previous time. It has been hot in the area so the truck cab was warm but not so hot that I wanted to run the AC.

I couldn't find anything in the manual that would indicate the truck will turn on the AC except when related to the Remote Start.

Anyone else have this happen? Any ideas?

I don’t shut my AC unit down at all, but I do shut the “AC” button off shortly after starting. (I’m a windows down guy)

Every morning and every evening upon startup, the AC is activated.

the fan is always on ( low by me) , but I shut the AC down as soon as the heat is disapated.

Don't have the truck yet but could be similar to my VW Atlas, the AC button automatically comes on when humidity levels are high?

No, HVAC not set to Auto but that was a good idea.

I think it has to do with the truck temperature, when it senses the cab is hot it turns on the AC even though all that's needed is to open the windows to cool things off.

My 2001 and 2018 F150s both start the AC when the heater is turned to put out air to the panel and floor! Can this be changed? Any one else bothered when you just want a bit of fresh air on your face and feet but not AC? Is there an over ride? I'm thinking of adding a toggle switch to prevent the AC from coming on except when I want it on! The wiring diagram says the wire from the Function selector switch is PPL- Purple perhaps cut it and drill a small hole near the function control knob for the switch? Many cars and trucks have such a system. Or should I call HVAC experts like hvaclifehack, because I want both!
