8 inch to 12 inch screen upgrade done, but backup camera not working

I have a 2022 Ford F150 XL. I’ve upgraded from the 8 inch monitor to the 12 inch monitor. Everything works fine except the back up camera. I was told by Ford that it would not work because on the XL it’s a digital signal for the camera and not an analog, how would I get my back up camera?

I put the 12” in a 22 and 23 and both cameras work so not sure what that’s about.

Check this value in forscan. I am assuming the APIM is set to digital but the XL camera is analog. I believe mine is set to 2 currently.

Did it work? I've just installed the 12 inch screen and apim. My voice mic, rear camera, and Sirius won't work. Everything else os good.
I have a 22 xlt. My new apim is xlt.

Hey Coachgarcia9, its been a bit since your last post. Curious if you were able to resolve your issues? I also have a 22 XLT, bought the 12" screen but no APIM yet. I got a black screen and I am curious as to what is the fix to get everything working.

You'll need to get the power cable and a 12" APIM. I tried every conceivable option to power my 8" with the larger screen and always had the random issue with it turning black. Multiple people have reported the exact issue, the 12" APIM always fixes it.

@Tropictundra Did you install a new APIM or are you using the same one your truck came with?

The cameras will work with the 12" apim same as it did with the 8"

Its a matter of setting the config for the camera to analog.

THe best thing to do is load your factory as build and change only the things you need to for the 12" apim such as screen size and the side cards that you want enabled. Not all side cards will work with the XL cluster.

In Forscan my value is already set to 2. Camera was working briefly for a day and then it went to black screen again..

Quick update: I'm getting black screen with green bars across the screen whenever I press the reverse camera button or shifting to reverse. What could this mean?
