This is extremely frustrating. Trim on the driver's side rear door window is starting to separate from the truck. Custom ordered last year, got it late last December. Called my dealership and others, and No dealership in town can even look at it until September at the earliest due to backlog. Big Worry I have is we're in the rain season for where I'm at, and if water gets in there, then what else might get wet/ruined? I'm not sure what my recourse is here to get this looked at sooner. Anyone have any advice?

My 2014 had this happen and I used 3M double sided automotive tape. Worked wonders.

Maybe problems are regional or specific to dealers, I don't know. Up in Pa I just called my selling/servicing dealer to schedule a service for my powerboost which included normal maintenance plus wiper recall and random Tailgate drop fix. They told me Monday for everything and I had to tell them that's actually too soon but I'd be happy if they'd set a slot aside for me in a couple weeks.

If someone told me September is the earliest they could eyeball weatherstripping I'd be looking to start a relationship with a new dealer out of town or calling corporate. This isn't exactly stuff for the in demand Master tech who only knocks out higher level stuff Monday through Friday on the early shift.

An idea:

Send the service department an email asking for an appointment to fix this. Include an explanation of the problem and include your pictures.

Don't mention your previous conversations on this matter.

If they email you back saying "September" (or similar) again you now have documentation of the looooong lead time.

In addition ,it might not hurt to to share your rainy season concerns with them as well. Maybe with the service manager, if needed.

Good morning! Could you please send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your preferred Ford dealer? I'd like to see how I can assist you with this trim concern. Thank you!

Thanks for the words and advice, everyone. I still have a few dealerships in my area to reach out to, but Ford has also reached out as well, and I'm taking them up on trying to help get this resolved quickly. Will definitely follow up for anyone else interested in the outcome!

Pretty close, San Antonio, lol.
Bless you
I love SA but no way i could live in that traffic all the time
make the best of it and get some good eats
i am not sure how much the ford rep her helps
but when i had my battery changed to the CORRECT one, my dealer had already been contacted by somebody up the food chain.

so i tend to believe they do help as much as they can.

I am in the Austin area and have also had issues with service from local dealers, even some I’ve done business with many times over.
Try Chaparral Ford in Devine, not too far from San Antonio. I bought my 21 Powerboost there and they took good care of me. You could try the dealers around Castroville, they seem to remember service as well.
