After the 4.3.4 OTA update failed over a dozen times, I started setting the parking brake and after a couple of attempts, lo and behold it updated successfully yesterday! I really don't get it...
Whatever it takes. Coincidence or not, if it worked, then it worked.

How can you tell which update number you’ve got in your truck?

Go into your settings and see what Sync version you have in the "about Sync" screen. Your Fordpass app will also tell you what the last OTA you got was; not every OTA will update your Sync version to a newer one.

Or just post your VIN and I'll check it.

Sync 4? That does not make sense. It should start with a 2 and be 5 digits long.

Either way, I just noticed yours is a 2023. Your truck was built with the latest software already. If you are missing any update or two, it would be updates to prep your truck for future updates. There is nothing to worry about in your case.

@rugedraw - Is this OTA still out there for OTA or did Ford pull it? I looked on @tonesto7 Ford power up page and it is not listed but you have it on the excel sheet. Just wondering is all.

I'm not sure if he's added it. I can tell you the excel sheet is up to date completely including the new priority update first reported today.

It's on the Excel sheet. I just double checked.

20214.3.4Aug-23A vehicle with a view. The functionality of your Rear View Camera has been improved. Some camera views are now available while your vehicle is in motion. To monitor your cargo area or trailer, simply press your camera button and use the center high-mounted stop lamp camera (if equipped) or Rear View Camera, or watch the view from a trailer auxiliary camera (bought and installed separately). For more information on these features, visit Ford.com/support or your digital Owner’s Manual.IPMA/PSCM5

I was referring to @tonesto7 web page. Sorry for the confusion.

2021 F-150 Powerboost
My truck is a 2021 Powerboost. Lots of little issues with it but mosty solved now. Updates have been an issue from the start but I seem to be getting them now. Really just cared about the full screen Android Auto which I received.
Like a lot of others lately, every time I start my truck I have been receiving the messsage that my truck would kindly like my assistance installing an update. Also like others I have been trying to placate the update gods with no luck. The Ford app shows it as 4.3.4.
I've tried the following with no luck:
1) Turning everything off, audio, climate, lights, set parking brake, lock the truck.
2) Charge the battery with an older charger. Followed by the steps above.
3) Drive the truck for 2 or 3 hours, get home, followed by the steps above.
4) Bought one of the NOCO chargers, charged the battery. Followed by the steps above.

As for the NOCO charger, I set the negative clamp on 3 different spots (negative terminal, just outside the negative terminal, engine compartment ground). Each time the NOCO starts off showing about 25% then charges rapidly to 100%, maybe 15 minutes.
Also tried resetting the BMS, which by indications on the dash seems to indicate a reset.

From reading other posts there seems to be some chatter about 2021's potentially having bad batteries. I've had my truck in for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and had no indication of a bad battery. I don't know what kind of battery testing the do in any case. Also, no warnings of any kind.
I'm fully prepared to buy a new battery if that's required, not just due to the updates but I'd rather not get stuck anywhere. By now I assume its out of warranty which is just they way it goes.

If anyone has the ability to see if the battery is the cause of the update failures, my vin is:

About replacing the battery, better to have Ford do it or is AutoZOne, maybe Duralast or something ok?
Anything particular about swapping batteries on the Powerboost trucks?
Appreciate the assist.

Your battery doesn't seem to be too bad. I can tell you a few people have gotten this update after replacing their battery, and a few have replaced their battery and it still failed. I have yet to make sense out of these error codes.

"errorCode":"CooldownFailed(8)""totalLvBatteryCapacity":"82""currentLvBatterySoc":"80""availableLvBatteryCapacity":"65600"

I think I'm just not going to worry about it anymore.

Good idea. Can you use your rear camera while driving? If not, is it that big a deal to do so? If not, then don't worry about it.
