Hey guys, my ETA updated today from 10/31 to 8/13. Ordered on 1/14, build date of 4/1. It's hard to trust this because this also happened in May then it went back to 10/31 again. I would feel better if I saw a shipment date and that it was in transit. Anyone else have this experience and how accurate do you think this is?

2021 Ford F-150 (LARIAT) is estimated to be delivered to dealer in 48 days.

Good for you, but you're not 4/26 family haha. Have other folks in your build week received delivery? ETA doesn't truly matter until you know your truck has been marked as built.

Haven't seen any activity yet from that build week either. Figured someone on here may have had a similar experience. I check every build week's threads and this one seems to be the most active lately so thought I'd try :)

We mostly vent our frustration to each other, try to make sense of these wild times in the vehicle market, and every now and then we get a surprise that one of our trucks has shipped.

Again, ETA doesn't matter until you at least find out that your truck is marked as built. Your new ETA is still far off, what we've seen is that if your truck is built, you'll get an ETA roughly 2-3weeks out.

@cghall77 You are in this line of business so maybe you know. Just because a factory is running at 80 percent or 100 percent, they just can't crank out chips correct? The silicone wafers that the chips are made from can take months from start to finish right?
End to end process can take months if you take into consideration the ingot growing, outside of mining the natural resources that go into the electronics (ie silicon, gold, silver, copper etc). Sorry, most info I have is for internal use only but here is some good info as well.

Our Trucks are on the way

When I read the article this morning I had to do a couple double takes here. That truck really looks like it is photoshopped into this picture.

You got a truck off the lot or your order came in? Were the trackers up to date as far as having built/shipped status change?
My order came in. The original ETA from when the order was received was may 13, jumped to June 13 then about a week before arrival, July 22. It was in “production” for a few weeks before Changing to awaiting shipment and then another week before “shipped”. So statuses were kept up to date and the dealer gave me daily location updates while the truck was transported by Rail.
My experience with the whole process really hasn’t been as bad as some of the people on this thread.
I’ll try to get a couple pictures on Monday. Couldn’t actually drive it home Friday night because we were too late to get in to the registers/insurance office.

Just checked my status and, surprise, no change. 10/31.

Honestly, at this point, I hope my truck is one of them under water.

Then they would have to remanufacture it again.

Ford production impacted
The Dearborn Truck Plant, which builds the bestselling Ford F-150, was down on Saturday as a result of extreme flooding in the area, Kelli Felker, Ford global manufacturing and labor communications manager, told the Free Press. "They are still shipping but employees had trouble getting in due to the flooded area."

You could be right but of all the manufacturers with the possible exception of DOD contractors, I would have to think that FORD has some "juice" with these manufacturers.

And another thing... just because the Chip factory is delivering "chips" doesn't mean that Bosh is delivering the housings for the computer modules.

But that's NOT what they're telling everyone.'

That's my only point.
Totally agree, it is more than just semiconductor shortage in the overall global supply chain issues going on right now with all manufacturing. Even Line-x is having supply issues right now.

As for manufacturing sectors, a lot of the aerospace and defense contracts are all outsourced and at the end of the day comes down to the clout and contracts those manufacturers have with their vendors. Aerospace industry has likely lost some of its purchasing power with being sidelined over the last couple years dating back even further than covid with the grounded fleets.

Ford supply chain because of their typical way of operations, they know pretty much what they need to have available way before you and I have our order in. They have a steady stream and good trend details as they head into the following year. Their vendors rarely change, they have very few vendors per widget. The sole sourced contracts leave them vulnerable. On any other year, having just an ok supply chain team and decent vendors would get them by. Biggest issue for many is the lack of semiconductor manufacturers. Heading into 2021 they were already running above 95% capacity. The industry was already seeing an uptick due to things like new gaming systems being released and the crypto market.

100% agree but that NOT what they're telling us.

In fact... they're not telling us much which goes back to another point I made earlier....

They've really blown a Golden Opportunity to cement Customer Loyalty by including us directly in the process. Contacting us, letting us know they understand what we're dealing with and making us "part" of the process.

People here have had to cancel vacations, etc... because their trucks are sitting on ramp 59.

But all we get is silence.

That's bad customer service on an epic level in "my" opinion.
No, not silence. It's "talk to your dealer"

But we really never realized how incompetent the dealers are, until now.

I do agree with you there. They’ve completely lost customer trust with their lack of transparency and ownership of any of the problems. Just sadly typical big company bureaucracy.
