3D Printed Console Tray and Pistol Holder

My truck didn't come with a console tray (bought used). I looked at most of the ones available and they are rectangles. I wanted to close up the gap they leave on the side so I printed my own.

Also wanted to secure my pistol rather than just have it lying in the safe, So I built a system with 2 rails that will hold two holders which are changeable based on the pistol.

PETG. I tend to buy the Creality brand since I'm printing on an Ender 3 Neo Max

hopefully that holds up. I have had mixed results with PETG inside cars. If it starts to warp make the replacements in ASA.

When I split my 2 meter radio into two parts I made the housings and head unit mount with the same filament. it's been in the truck for the whole summer here in Alabama and so far no warps. And it's been unusually hot here.

That said, I've had hatchbox warp while printing.

A good digital micrometer and metal rulers that start at zero really help. Amazing how many rulers start 2-3 mm from the end.

Never know when the gat will be needed in a hurry during a road rage incident to blow the head off another driver.
