Please share the 'how to' of a buy back - how is it done & can you share a Ford corporate contact if you used one - thank you. And yes the last 2 years especially Ford has had far more complaints than any other car manufacturer.
Contacted Ford through the forumn messaging. They created a case. I also kept very detailed notes. My case manager was very helpful. After 30 days in the shop I met the requirement for lemon law and requested a buy back. So around day 37 I got a call saying my buyback was approved. I am now dealing with another agent in the Rav department and they have requested my loan payoff info among other things you can guess that will complete this. Once I submit everything she will send an offer over which will be for the full amount, plus tax, title license. She also asked for any aftermarket receipts so we shall see if they pay me back for my liners and linex. I will say Ford has mastered the buyback process which is obviously not a good thing.

The number to Ford to start a case is (800) 392-3673, or you can start one with Ford on here through messaging, but once you have a case you will have to communicate with your case manager.

Buy a Ford. Lightning won't strike twice.

Buybacks of an Acura, Mini Cooper, BMW, and the F150.

You must be lemon'd weary. ?
Only the Acura and Mini. The BMW was an almost but they finally fixed it so buyback was avoided. Have never owned an F150 so no lemon there. Did did put 100k on a Fusion Energi I used when I had a commute and it was a very reliable car. Also 100k on a Volt as a commuter and it only had oil changes. Surprisingly, the American cars I've owned have been the most reliable.

Man this thread is crazy. Not a whole lot of objective info being discussed.

I don't think ford is firing on all cylinders between adding a third shift, poor QA practices, and some questionable decisions that are based on a supply chain that isn't agile. As someone who previously worked in aerospace supply chain during 2021/2022 don't blame the supply chain, I squarely blame Ford for failing to proof, diversify, and validate.

That said, I'll be upfront about saying the Silverado and Sierra are two of the ugliest damn things I've seen outside of a Toyota/ Lexus dealership. The titan is underwhelming and really not a great performer or quality truck either. Dodge has terrible reliability from poor materials and QC, and this hasn't changed much if at all in decades. Ford, I at least trust to engineer it properly with proper material spec and design. The subcontractor issues aren't excusable, but they aren't quite as bad of an issue to me compared to Dodge. At least Ford wouldn't give to shits about writing vendor liable QNs and recalling the parts.

If it wasn't an F150 for me, I would consider a Canyon or Ram 1500, but both are distant seconds to me. This is coming from someone who already found blatant QC issues with a truck I took delivery on literally last Tuesday.

I’ve had my share of buybacks over 40 years of driving. Had a strange bad run in the early 2000’s of back to back lemons across multiple brands.

My takeaway is, almost entirely simply luck of the draw.

Anecdotally I’ve noticed two lessor factors.

1. Lease vs. Purchase - purchasing seems to increase the lemonability factor by 500%.
After my last buyback in 2004 (3 buybacks in 2 years) I decided I would only lease to decrease financial risk being stuck with a lemon vs it being someone else’s headache in 2 years. Over the course of the next 18 years covering 7 leased vehicles, 0 DAYS IN THE SHOP!!! All perfect and flawless.
I did see a couple recalls for immaterial things that I never took them in for as they’d take care of it when turned in.
The last one was my 2017 F150 with 2.7EB. loved that truck and restored my faith in Ford after they bought back my 2003 Cobra.
Roll forward to 2022, First purchased vehicle since 2004 was my 2022 Lariat PB.
The Lemon gods struck it down immediately upon learning I paid cash, at 200 miles the transmission was leaking like a sieve. Still dealing with the fallout. I roll under it weekly checking for leaks due to the shody repair work from the dealer.
I knew better, but I loved that 2017 and was hoping for similar luck. Only blame myself for violating the my primary rule of lemon proofing (a lease contract wards of the evil spirits, lol)

2. Your own personal luck factor. Absolutely seems some people are just luckily or blessed with never ending good fortune. From order to pickup in 2 months to 3 PB’s without any real problems…
All you can do is hope that one day, fortunes will turn and you can count yourself among this group.
Preferably starting the day you buy that new vehicle!
I thought that I was back in this group with that 18 year run, but violating rule 1 seems to put you back on the unlucky list.
