I purchased a 2023 new 3.5 Tremor two weeks ago. Yesterday, I noticed at red lights several times it would ever so slightly shake when idling. When I pushed the gas it would stop. It did this multiple times in town. This is my first Ford just wondering if I need to address this issue and have it looked at by the dealer. Any thoughts?

I’ve had two 3.5 EBs and the both had shimmy/vibration at idle.

Did you come from an in-line 4/6 or V8? V6 shimmy a bit, the only engine that was silky smooth at idle at a stoplight on my test drives was the 5.0L. V6 naturally balanced is 120 degrees, too wide for most automotive application so the manufacturers compromise and do 60 degrees with balancers. A V8 is naturally in balance at 90 degrees, which fits in automotive application so they are very smooth from the factory requiring no balancers. Not bashing, just stating why the EcoBoosts are a bit more shaky. It’s the natural harmonics of the engine. In-line 6 are also naturally in balance and very smooth much like a V8.

It’s weird. Doesn’t do it all the time just every once in awhile. Just Changed from a long time chevy buyer to a Ford. Wanted the more torque and horsepower with the 3.5

Appreciate that info. I drove a Chevy 5.3 for years before I bought this one. Other than the shimmy at times I love it

Besides that the 3.5L EcoBoost is leaps and bounds better than the 5.3 and will dust it in every single situation. My uncle was pushing me hard to get a GMC Sierra, but the GMC 5.3L V8 felt downright lethargic being down 50 horsepower/ 30 lb ft of torque to the Ford 5.0L V8. Long story short the 5.0 is what I purchased with no regrets and I love the F-150. GM keeping the 6.2 reserved for top trims only is ultimately a disservice to themselves is my opinion. Congrats on the Tremor and happy trucking!
