Can someone please post some pics of the Unreal activated but without the climate controls at the bottom? To be clear, you can do Unreal but without climate controls on the screen, yes?
I've seen quite a few posted.

But here's a before/after
(crisper, deeper, richer..)

Same boat as most of you. Received 3.5.2 on Oct 8 but still waiting for 3.5.3. I use CarPlay almost exclusively so would love full screen compatibility.

At this point with nobody else on these forums getting 3.5.3 pushed to them I'm starting to think they found an issue with the APIM update and have held it. Yes it's still available on FDRS, but it does seem awfully weird that nobody is getting it via OTA now.

There is a way... ;)
I've been using this for months. It's not perfect, but it does the job. I still haven't tried all the apps on there. It could be the ones I am using as not as good as some of the others. I haven't dedicated much time to playing the other ones.

I'm anxious to see the outcome for all of the guys waiting for the 3.5.3 OTA update to come. I'm starting to think Ford has bitten of more than they can chew with this and fear another 1.7.1 fiasco is about to happen.

When I updated to 3.5.3 It took about an hour just to create the update USB stick with FDRS and my laptop was attached to Wi-Fi at 5ghz. How in the world will these trucks be able to download 5.5 gig at 4g without error? I just don't think these trucks will be able to make the download and install without running into low battery issues, and this is only worse for trucks in the northern states where It's starting to get very cold out, it was 24 degrees hear in NJ here last night. Thinking about it now my 1.7.1 problem started last December at 15F. This morning my short trip trucks battery SOC was at 67% there's just no way that OTA could ever complete in that condition!

Since Ford seems uninterested in using WIFI for OTA's I think they have a lot of people jumping through hoops with this for nothing.

And then the install, it took 47 minutes for 3.5.3 to install from the USB stick with the engine running. How many people are going to shut off the truck midstream and end up with a bricked APIM? Given Ford's crappy install status bars, people will not know the install is complete and inadvertently shut down.

OR

Is there a bigger problem with the software itself we don't know about yet? Like, maybe a problem regarding Android Auto and the upcoming rollout of cool walk. Or CarPlay. After I did the 3.5.3 update with FDRS I lost functionality with cameras in motion and ended up correcting it with forscan. What will happen with the trucks that have been updated with FDRS since this was released already to dealers. 3.5.3 patch? Now they have a real problem!

I'm really rooting for Ford to prevail with this , but it's looking like there going to fall flat on there face again with this.

@Big Dog Daddy all very good points indeed, Ford might have gotten themselves into another OTA fiasco.

It boggles my mind that Ford doesn't use Wifi for downloading updates. Along with many of the folks on here I've always kept an eye on my data usage from my truck on my home router and never see anything more than a couple of MB's passing through. The only time I ever got an OTA was when I was out of town visiting another big city with no wifi. Never the million times my truck is parked literally 10' away from the closest Wifi AP.

Yes, The only time I have ever received on update was while my truck was at work 500 feet from an ATT cell tower, that grabs it every time!

For the few that received 3.5.3 so far, I have a strong suspicion that Ford sent this out to a test group of trucks to test the failure rate and found it to be too high. Some obviously completed the install as seen on this thread but how many are in a state of limbo with this OTA? We don't know! I think the update is an all or nothing kind of a thing, and Ford should create another strategy in which files are updated a few at a time of a couple of days or weeks until there all on board and then start the update.

I didn't realize we had determined that the trucks don't actually use Wifi, like the FordPass app and OTA instructions in the Owner's Manual recommend. That's disappointing.

Like you guys, my truck has a strong 2.4 ghz Wifi signal in its parking spot every single night and I've even put it on a battery charger overnight most nights just in case 3.5.3 was pushed. Still nada.

I got 3.5.2 on September 16th, and still no 3.5.3. I think everyone is right: Ford isn't pushing it out anymore.

Same. Got 3.5.2 on September 20 while sitting in a hotel parking lot over night after an 8 hour drive.
My wife's 21 Expedition has received a couple updates while sitting right next to my truck in the garage.
