I love my 5.0/3.31, the highway efficiency is great and it’s got gobs of passing power. From a dead stop mine is good too, but my STX Supercab is pretty light so I don’t feel any ill effects of the 3.31 down low. That may be different if I had a crew lariat. Thinking of doing a Lariat next, so will prob order 3.73 in that one.
^^ I was initially worried about the 3.31 gears on my 5.0, glad I listened to others and tried it out.

If you can't pass a vehicle at highway speeds with the 3.31 gears, I assure you, you didn't have enough room even with 3.55 or 3.73 lol

In my opinion, the 10spd transmission mitigates any gearing/speed related issues. For towing, I absolutely get wanting the other options, but as a DD with occasional towing, I think the 3.31 is perfect.

I have the 5.0 + 3.31. I was initially concerned about the lack of grunt down low but to me it's a non-issue. I am coming from a 2013 Tacoma so this thing feels like a rocket ship. In traffic I barely need to push the pedal down to keep up with traffic. I am sure the 3.73 are funner down low but my F-150 is a family commuter and MPG is more of a priority. Sold my last travel trailer (Casita 17ft) because it was getting too small. My next one definitely won't be over 5k lbs.

On the highway if I need to pass I give it the beans and before I know it I am at 90+ mph if I am not careful.
