I’m wondering if anyone is running a 295/70 (34”) tire with the factory 3.31 gears and tows? (Wasn’t sure which thread to put this in) I’m concerned with the 3.31 going up to a 295/70 it will impact towing.

I think that set up with 3.5 eco should be fine but 2.7 or 5.0 might struggle little bit off the line. Not a huge difference but i would look for 3.55s if your going to tow with those tires.

Yeah my rig is the 3.5, I’ve been debating between the 295/70 or a 275/70. I like the look of the 295 but I know performance wise I’ll be better off with the 275.

3.5L will have zero issues with that ....500ftlbs is a lot of torque (or 470 if yours is last gen)

So is 410. Not sure why the 5.0 would struggle with anything.

Agreed, the 5.0L would be fine as well. The EB more so because of how low of an RPM the torque comes in.

The 5.0 would struggle towing something semi big with 3.31 gears and bigger off road tires. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that it’s not capable it’s plenty capable I’m just saying with 331s and bigger tires that will hinder your performance even more it may be a better idea to get either more gear or get a 35 eco-with that type of gearing 3-31
