Just installed my wheel and tire setup

Black Rhino Rapids, 18x9 +12
Wanted initial gunmetal grey but was discontinued so I settled for matte black.

Tire setup- Cooper Discoverer Stronghold AT LT275/70/R18

Vehicles on 1.75” lift in the front only with Bilstein 5100.

Happy with how it sits. Didn’t want too aggressive with the flares. Couldn’t justify a wider tire, less benefits imo. More resistance, heavier, won’t fully utilize tread width. Pretty much went with the tremor setup but widened the track width with rim offset.

I don’t have exact numbers but my shipping package said total four boxes total weight of 120lb, so the math shows roughly 30lbs each. Hopefully that helps.

I know the tires are basically brand new to you, but curious what your initial thoughts on them are? They look similar to Wildpeak which is a highly regarded tire (but very heavy). I have been eyeing them up and considering downsizing from my 295/70/18 recon grapplers to them, or even staying with the 295/70 and just switching to the Coopers. I have been very happy with the Recon Grapplers but I like trying different tires. I have never run the same set twice.

I plan on writing up a review after 1000km. But overall, happy with the tire. Looks good, there is an increase in road noise compared to the stock so that was expected. Nothing crazy though. Drove them through gravel roads and they have no problem not trapping rocks. I used to average roughly 11.2L / 100km. Now it’s bumped up to 11.6L/100km. So the increase is quite small imo. I think there’s a lot of factors at play, I stuck to 275 versus any wider so weight is one, and rolling resistance isn’t as high as 295’s. Paired with the 5100 all around, the ride is firm due to stronger sidewalls. But oddly, maybe it’s just mental but I feel the transmission shifts a little better and holds certain gears better with the cooper than stock Hankooks. I also want to mention, I am a certified technician, so I can 100% say it feels much better . If that matters ?

I would definitely like to hear your thoughts after you have time to put some miles on them. Mostly curious about rain and snowy conditions also. As far as road noise, the glorious sounds this 5.0 makes with the MBRP duals basically drowns out any road noise so it doesn't really concern me. You are changing the gearing (albeit minimal) with a slightly larger tire so maybe that has something to do with the way it relates to the butt-dyno.

Following for your thoughts on the tires after you get some more miles. I'm looking at these along with a couple of others. They have a 265/70/18 that they list as 33.2 @52 lbs that I might get.
