This is specifically what Antho suggested (below)

Keep in mind that I supplied him with my VIN because he was aware that my Park Assist delete truck was somewhat unique in that it arrived with all the visible hardware that wasn't expected for a Park Delete truck.

He cared enough and was generous enough to do the necessary research of my trucks AsBuilt and came to the conclusion that I might only need the one edit.

He was right!

Wow! I make a post and close my eyes for a nap, and wake up to solutions!

Thanks. This may have to be my first Forscan mod.

Interesting, my Feb 22 KR build activates the camera's when I get close to something. Really like the feature when parking close to something. I was lucking in finding this truck and it didn't have any deletes.

look forward to seeing here if it works for you guys. I still have both trucks and can always do comparisons of Forscan readings. The 21 is at the dealer getting warranty fixes so i have to wait until it gets back to try this.

So is the consensus that if it's a car with Park Assist Delete, not a car that wasn't supposed to come with Park Assist at all, it might be configured with VCAPAI Oldstyle , and needs VCAPAI Newstyle at 706-16-01 xxx* xxxx xx--?

I'm too lazy to check my AsBuilts right now.

On my '22 tremor with park assist delete I just changed mine from 3 to B and now the front camera activates when an obstacle is detected. This awesome, literally didn't know what I was missing haha.

Great news :)

And it just goes to show that when Ford had no choice with the Park Assist Delete decision, they didn't take the time to evaluate whether they were disabling a feature that didn't need to disabled with the corner they were in.

Or put another way, I don't believe Ford wanted specifically to take the camera autolaunch away from us. It just got swept out in the mess.

You guys really need to stop all this Forscan stuff. You’re going to force me to buy a Windows laptop and a cable. You really are a bunch of enablers ?

I had a 2016 f150 xlt, and there were only a handful of changes to be made. First purchase once I took delivery of my 402a Tremor was a new compatible obd ii interface. The things that can be done with the higher trim levels are amazing! Ford pretty much forces us to have Forscan these days!

Just made my first FORScan update to my 22 platinum. 7/25/22 build with parking assist delete. After backing up all the asbuilt data, I made the 706-16-01 change, was 3 and changed to B. Front camera automatically turns on now with front proximity alert.

Question- When making forscan updates, should the truck be off with key on, or does it matter if it's running? I had the truck running when I wrote the forscan 706-16 data. Got a message on the dash about adaptive cruise (I think) but it went away before I could snap a picture. Cruise seems to still be working fine.

I had the engine off with key on when making the backups. The truck turned off to save battery, so I started it. Then made the 706-16-01 change without thinking that the truck was running.

Good to see that another Park Assist Delete got their camera autolaunch with the tiniest of edits!

As for editing AsBuilt with Forscan, it's traditionally a key-on/engine-off endeavor.
And getting instrument panel alerts and warnings aren't out of the question when that amazing ensemble of modules on the network have their communications suddenly interrupted.
For the vast majority of the researched and documented changes, those alerts and warnings are temporary.

If you desire to have a lengthy session in Forscan, much like any programming efforts, you should consider having the truck connected to a battery charger/power supply.

Thanks. I'm a little more calm now about the dash notification.

Good idea with the charger for longer sessions.

@rpold150 or anyone else that did this change to activate the from camera. Do you have the 4 proximity sensors up front or is using the Adaptive Cruise Control Radar Sensor for this?

I'm in the process of adding all this to my Lariat and was curious.
