So long time no see. Finally have an update.

So a new dealer (The one I bought the truck from, not my local dealer) has had the truck about the last month. They replaced the "leak detection Module". It was on back order for awhile and once they got it in, one of the service managers took it home and put about 300 miles on the truck. I got it back today. So far no code (fingers crossed). The tech notes state that they ran a number of leak tests and 1. Found bubbles coming out of evap leak detection module while leak testing. 2. Found vapor hose at fuel pump not seated and leaking. 3. Found the filler neck metal pipe clamp not in the correct place (The notes say "not even on the pipe"). I'm assuming this means it was higher on the mating surface, instead of on the hose itself securing it to said mating surface.

So long story short. Sure seems like kelly ford was incompetent. I've got really high hopes that it's finally fixed. Overall it sure seems like this dealership has their sh*t together FAR more. I'm happy to have found someone it seems I can rely on. We'll see if my praises hold true.

Ford corporate offered to reimburse me for my last loan payment. Since they've had it so long. I've taken them up on that obviously. I'll update this thread more if it reoccurs. If I don't, then consider it fixed.

Can you tell us the name of the place. I haven’t hear of competency like that in a while. Need to bring mine in for a code too. Lol.

That all sucks. The silver lining is you found a rare competent dealership. You could sell that information for profit lol.

That was my goal here.

When I first started getting this code the first thing I did was google it and didn't find anything related. Since it's a brand new model year (at the time). I figure I'd start the seed that google would eventually find to help some other poor lost wandering soul in the future and blaze the trail myself. It's been extremely painful. And I hope I'm finally there.

Funny story. I've done the same thing at $dayjob (Telecommunications). There's been a number of times that I've posted something like this on reddit. Only to find it again myself years later when having the same issue. Takes me a minute before I look at the username and go "SOB THIS IS ME".

I was about to start a thread on this issue...and then I found this one.

My truck has about 11K miles on it now and I am still getting the code. My truck threw the code for the first time around 700-800 miles (truck as at the dealer at 951 miles). I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong. They reset the code and said it might have just been an issue created by my first fill-up. Yes, that is what they said.

Obviously, the code came back on my way home and the dealer scheduled it back in for a longer look and a leak detection. Once again, they found nothing wrong. They contacted Ford, who ran some tests remotely and/or directed the dealer as to what data they wanted to see. All that checked out, too. The case was kicked up to the Engineering Group, who suggested that they replace the entire fuel filler assembly. This diagnosed in May (1,650 miles) and the work was finally completed in November (7,627 miles).

I thought they got it fixed. From November 4th until January 19th I went code free. Since Jan 19th, the truck has thrown the code another 6 times. I have a few other issues/items I want the dealer to look at including the reverse braking assist error, memory seat not always working, & intermittent fuzzy display issue with touch screen.

If I were not so enamored with my truck, I would be a lot more upset with the issue it keeps having. Then again, mechanically it works just fine, so the issue are really just a nuisance that I should not have to be putting up with on a $75k truck.

Hi there! This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd like to look into this on my end.

Haha. When I tried to get your attention earlier in this thread you were nowhere to be found. But someone else posts and gets a reply in hours. Hopefully you can help out @05RubiconLJ.

I'm glad Ford has some kind of monitoring on this forum. It's wise, in my opinion. But also risky if the results do not reveal its value. I want so badly to see just one post from a member stating it made a difference.

One good example would be for Ford to officially address something like the backordered drive shafts that have several folks without their brand new F150's and zero information regarding when Ford might be able to supply the dealership with a new one?

There must be something that could be said about these kinds of things?

I appreciate their reaching out. That was not the intention of my post, but it is good to know that they are paying attention to the issues our community is posting about.

Yeah. I do get comfort that they are at least monitoring the forums. These forums are about as close as you can get to "having your ear to the ground" on issues these trucks are having short of running a service department in a dealership.

I will also say that my ford case has been basically useless. The only thing they seem to do is act as a third party to call the dealership and check in. And give you updates (Which I can do myself). They don't seem to have any power to actually do anything productive to help you (like get parts special ordered that are on back order, or help strong arm the dealer into talking to an engineer). Perhaps I'm expecting too much. But when I reached out to ford. I expected them to take control of the situation and move haven/earth to get my problem resolved. Which was far from what they did. With that said. I appreciate having the line of communication at the very least. And I also appreciate the fact that they are impowered to reimburse me for a month of my loan payment.

Just wanted to post an update on my communication with Ford. They replied to this post (above) and sent me a PM asking about my issues. That is as far as it went. I have not heard a peep from them since February 16th.

February 16th - "Thank you for reaching out to Ford Motor Company with this concern. I will be escalating this case to a Customer Experience Specialist on the Truck Support Team. They will contact you through your best contact method within a few business days to assist you. "

So I have a 2022 Lariat with the Powerboost with 3,200 miles on the odometer. CEL came on around 2k miles right after I filled up which was the first time being able to do so with the local gas pumps cutting off @ 100$ and me being lazy not wanting to swipe my card twice. The Fordpass app says, "the powertrain control system has detected evaporative emission vapor blocking valve may stuck open and requires service. When this fault is present additional vehicle warning messages or alerts may occur." That is word for word what it says and I do not have a scanner to get the actual code. I am going to bring it in this week figured I would share since the fuel/emissions systems seem to have minor problems and not a lot of information or feedback regarding the problems and solutions to them. I personally think the heat (100F-105F that day I filled up) is what caused my issue but the vent valve should not have malfunctioned with it being that new.
