21 Bed Cargo Light Install

I looked under my bed on the driver’s side and saw a dummy plug and assumed I was good to go with ordering and installing the factory parts for the bed lights. When I went to install the lights I realized the harness for the lights and the plug under the truck were not the same. Then I saw I was missing the plug for the passenger side. Is there anyway to make this work, or should I just cut my losses? I have attached pictures of what I have.

That looks like the plug in for the bed auxiliary 120v outlet. The part with the orange wrapping. The bed light plug comes out of the main harness as shown in the pic. Just look up your current harness on Ford.com and cross it to a new one that adds the bed lighting package.

Found my current harness based on VIN, but not quite sure how to find one that has the bed light package. When looking at related parts, it shows the bed light jumpers, but not really sure if it's relevant or not.

You’ll will have to look through the rl3z13a409 harnesses start with “A” behind the 9 and go down the list until you find your current harness options exactly that adds the bed lighting package. I have a new “J” harness for sale cheap if it turns out to be that one.

ML3Z13A409AGJ is the one associated with my VIN. None of the 13A409 harnesses on the website state they are built for the bed lights. The descriptions of them are actually cryptic, but that is not surprising. I have an XL with no options, do you think your harness will work?

No. The “J”harness will not work. That is for tail lamps level 3 and power inverter. May have to go the aftermarket route that’s mentioned earlier.

I wonder if Ford updated the harness and the AGJ has the connectors. Not sure I'm willing to make the $300 gamble. Wish I could find an actual picture of the harness to see what connectors are on it. Thank you for your help in this.

What harness is on your truck?? Crawl under and take a pic of it. The tag is right by the big connector between the spare and the bumper

Mine is an AGE. I cannot even get that one to pull up on the parts site. I ordered the AGJ and will see what it looks like. Thanks again for your help.

Final update, the harness I ordered based off my VIN has the provisions for the bed lights.
