I have the 502A Lariat package I just got. So I bought the tow mirrors that have everything on them and the kit has the extend switch and bezel, to replace my oem mirrors. So I added the connector for the extend switch and wired it to the DDM, added the wires from the mirror connector to the DDM for the telescope wires. But I couldn't get FORSCAN to update the bits in the DDM to turn on the telescope feature. It will not let me set the bit. Using ChatGPT it says it won't because I have the wrong part number for the DDM. The one in my truck does not allow the bit to be written. So it says I need new DDM/PDM to allow that to be turned on. WTF??? It keeps giving a checksum error when I try to write it. And it will not take a correct checksum value if calculated. So now I'm thinking about just driving the telescope pins on the mirror with the extend switch just using it to power those pins. ChatGPT had suggested I go that route first before talking me into wiring up everything as per the wiring diagrams. So I put on both mirrors but have not wired the PDM side yet. Both mirrors joystick, fold, heat, memory, but no side camera or front camera, only rear shows up. Not sure if BLIS is working yet. And I get all kinds of DTC's.

I ran the battery down today working on it so I'm recharging over night with the POS battery cable removed to see if it will reset/re-initialize everything as ChatG says it will.

Do the camera's have to be swapped out from old to new mirrors? I had seen that in some threads.

Any ideas or help would be great

This is why I gladly paid the $75 or whatever it was for the dealer install. Sounds like it was money well spent.

$75 is crazy. My dealership quoted $950 for labor. Maybe they know the complications involved?

This is exactly why I spent the extra money for a set of Boost Auto tow mirrors for my 2020 F-150 Platinum. Shipping, service, support, and assistance with installation were top notch!!
