When you say quiet, have your measured your cabin? Mine is at 76db at barely 35mph. That's far from quiet. My XL (2024) is over 85db in the highway.
Great job on this! Looks fantastic and much more affordable than the factory carpet. Considering doing this now.For anyone who is willing to put some sweat equity into their carpet install, I can offer an alternative to the OEM carpet for 2024+ Regular Cabs.
I installed Auto Custom Carpets (ACC) aftermarket carpet, listed for the 2015 - 2020 Regular Cab F150 in my 2024 Regular Cab truck.
The part number I ordered was 24128162 in 801 Black. I paid just under $200 plus tax and shipping at RockAuto. I upgraded to a "mass backing" version which helps with sound insulation in the already quite F150 cab. I did not upgrade the cut pile, which is also an option.
Don't let the price fool you though, it took me 12+ hours to fit, trim, and clean the ACC carpet for a near perfect install. I'll admit, about half-way through the install I was really questioning the cost savings over just paying $600+ for the OEM carpet. I had already taken the gamble on this carpet and wanted to make it work out, so I stayed the course.
The carpet come pre-moulded to the basic floor pan shape. While this is listed for the 2015-2020 F150, it fit my 2024 RCSB very well.
It does requires all four sides to be fit/ trimmed into the cab. The center dash supports was the first to be fit. Its hard to see in this photo, but the carpet arrived with lots of loose juke backing fibers that needed to be vacuumed after final trimming.
More fitting completed for the center console brackets. Weight chain used to hold key contour areas down so sides could be fit/ trimmed.
Driver and passanger seat brackets were marked with Sharpie on the floor pan. I then carefully cut the openings out.
The carpet came with juke padding, but I reused the OEM juke since it was contoured and covered more of the floor pan. I carefully removed the juke from the OEM vinyl flooring and layed it in place after the ACC carpet was fully fit. This image also shows the mass backing option I upgraded to.
Almost done - all four sides trimmed, center console, seat bracket, tire jack openings cut-in. Carpet vacuumed and lint rolled with duct tape to get all the tiny fibers cleaned up.
OEM styrofoam foot rest was reused. I did have some areas of the driver footwell that needed the backing to be softened with a heat gun for a better contour. After a few rounds of heat, the dead pedal and accelerator heel rest fit very well. I did install this in winter. I think the coming summer heat will help the installed carpet fully lay-down to match the floor pan even better.
All things considered, the install turned out great. Fits 98% like OEM, nice black color, and helps with interior sound.
A few weeks after the install I was able drive my buddy's 2024 Raptor R. I noticed my ACC carpet pile was thicker than the OEM carpet - which was a nice bonus for the effort to install an untested aftermarket product.
It took some effort to fit and trim, but the end result turned out great. I’ve also found my aftermarket carpet is slightly thicker than Ford’s OEM rug.
