I just had the same whining noise under load two days ago and today it threw the service vehicle soon and check engine light for low boost pressure. Have an appointment set for Wednesday….

I sure wish that there was more consistency between the various customers who have experienced this factory design failure. Although your case still took a while, it's obvious Ford feels like you should be compensated for their assembly snafu on a brand new truck.The latest and possibly the final update: the truck seems to be running perfectly! I’m still under 1000 miles on the odometer but no issues yet. The dealership did mention a service update to upgrade an intake silencer, but the parts are back-ordered. Other than that, I hope to avoid the shop for a while.
Here’s the best part, Ford has stepped up and offered a 5yr premium care warranty for my trouble. it basically extends the three year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty out to 5y/75K. I’m also working with them to restart the bluecruise trial since most of the 90 days was burnt up sitting at the dealership.
I’m a happy camper!
