Has anyone had a miss fire fire show up? I have had several, the dealer wasted 3 hours of my time and blamed it on bad gas. But I drove another 250 miles on that tank and did not have it again until a certain operationing condition. I am looking for others who have had this error and I want to know how you were driving it, aggressively, normal or easy.

I have a 2024 F150 4x4 screw lariat with the 3.5 eco. I have had misfires from day one, been to dealership twice. Using Forscan, I was able to see 5-8 misfires that happen within the first 5 mins of running (always a cold start) while parked. I dont see any while driving. i can hear what sound and feel like the engine is misfiring. The 2nd time I took it to the dealership, I watched the shop foreman use the IDS tool and we had 5 misfires across 2 cylinders, but none while driving. I was told a few misfires are ok, as long as it doesnt throw a code. My best mileage has been 16.5, in the city or on a road trip. I have tried all 3 octanes, the behavior is the same. We have a 2017 4x4 version of this truck as well, 3.5 eco, we get 21 mpg with normal driving, 23 on the highway, and it has always used 89 octane from day 1. The 2024 is still in the shop for a howling noise from the front differential while in 4x4 mode.

Do you drive it easy? I had a code 3 times and what I noticed is when I am babying it to try to get really good millage it seems to trow a code the next start. But if I have a little heavier foot I have not seen a misfire. Seems like it does not like to be babyed I have a 2024 f150 stx 2x2 with the 2.7 eco. After putting in a k&n air filter I am seeing 30 to 32 mpg highway and 22 to 24 city.

I'm not sure how to answer that, my wife drives the truck, so she's not an aggressive driver. But if you are actually getting codes, something is not right. I suggest investing in a scan tool, or even better, get the OBDlink EX from OBDlink. I paid $40 for it, there is a coupon code on one of the forums, and I used that and Forscan on a laptop to watch the misfires live, and get mode 6 data to see which cylinder(s) are misfiring. Dont let them tell you its bad gas without proof the gas is bad. As I said in my previous post, the truck ran the same with all 3 octanes.

Yes I always have a scan tool in my cars. This last time it happened it generated a permanent code that I could not clear but 20 miles of normal driving cleared it.
What I am doing now is driving it in Eco mode and taking easy(oh the error seemed to be when in Eco and babying it) but at the end of my drive making sure to get my foot in it a few times, so far no codes when trying to get maximum millage in the city.

I had a flashing check engine light about a week ago. I am assuming it was a misfire. Got the flashing CEL with an aggressive acceleration. Only happened once so far and stopped flashing after approximately 10 seconds. It did not throw any codes and I have been unable to reproduce the flashing CEL (so far). 2024 F-150 with V8.
