2024 F-150 - Doors won’t open

Hello!

I will try to find a dealership service department tomorrow, but given is a Sunday, posting here in case anyone has any ideas.

Overnight my truck stopped opening the doors through the electric system. When I press the “open” button on the FOB key, all the lights turn on, and running boards come out, but the doors don’t open. The tailgate opens, but that is it. I can go into the car by using the physical key that is part of the FOB, and it starts all good, but it won’t lock or unlock the doors even with the internal buttons.

I thought it could be battery related, but I let it run for a while, and it doesn’t work even with the truck running.

Left the car alone for 30 minutes, came back, is working like a charm now. These intermittent issues are the worst.

I tried to open the passenger side fuse box to see if the fuses were loose, but couldn’t get the cover open, even applying a lot of force.

If you keep your cellphone near the keys , this can cause a problem. I have experienced your issue.

Hello, just wanted to add in my experience. I also have a brand new 2024 F-150 Platinum 703a, this happened to me this morning while I was trying to get to work. I started the truck from the phone app like usual, went out to get in and the mirrors unfolded, running boards came down, lights blinked, but the doors were still locked. I tried a number of times but the doors would not unlock. I used the key fob to lock, mirrors folded in, running boards retracted, lights flashed. Unlock on key fob did the same sequence, but doors were still locked. Had to use the physical key to unlock the drivers door to get to work. Very disconcerting. Indoor lock/unlock buttons did not work.

When I got to work I left the truck unlocked, then went out an hour later, pressed lock on key fob, doors locked. Went up to truck and opened door with fob in pocket and haven't had it happen again (yet). Phone / fob proximity did not matter. Indoor lock unlock buttons started working as well.

One thing to note I have not programmed a custom keypad entry code, and I was thinking that could be related but it shouldn't be.

Somone on here had to point me in the right direction as to what this "update" enhanced/corrected.

My software is up to date according to Ford's online dashboard. Given it was built in August I would assume it would already be updated. Ford's social media guy told me to bring it to the dealership to have them inspect it. An intermittent problem like this could have the dealership techs stumped for days and I'd like to keep driving my truck. I guess if it happens again I'll bring it in? But I'll probably have them check it at my first service in another 2k miles.

My 24 rcsb just did this last week. Walked out from work and hit unlock on the fob but got nothing. Used the app to unlock, and it started fine. Did notice on the radio it said "Vehicle Unblocked" which I've never noticed before so not sure if that's normal or not. Haven't had it happen since so not going to worry to much about it, just another quirk I guess.
