2024 RCSB 4x4 5.0
Did you guys see Jim's post on one of the FB f150 groups? He ordered a 2024 RCSB 5.0 4x4 off the Ford website after building it, like many of us have. He received it the other day, and it is NOT Flex fuel capable. Someone from a dealer searched his VIN for a build sheet and confirmed it is not a FFV. His User Manual specifies 87 or higher, but DO NOT USE E85. I really hope that's not the case on all 2024s.

Does anyone have any additional information on the topic?

How can I look up my build sheet to confirm if my truck will or will not have it?

They advertise E85 compatible when you build the truck....

All 5.0 should be flex fuel capable, it’s more likely that his manual is loaded in as an EcoBoost version by mistake.

2024 specs for 5.0 call it out as E-85 capable though

Huh, I wonder if on E85 it doesn't quite meet some states emissions or some BS and so they can't 'advertise' it as being such anymore....

Or there is a microchip shortage for the ethanol sensor and it is a new 'delete' for 2024....

It’s unlikely that the 2024 5.0 F150 were changed to not adjust for E85 fuel (although any is possible).

Mustangs and F150’s adjust for E85 fuel with the long term fuel trims. So, unless Ford deployed a new engine management program not capable of increasing fuel needs when E85 is used, the vehicle should still adjust for it…

Is it even worth it to use flex fuel? What you save on gas you lose in fuel economy, and then some even.

Maybe just a cut and paste error… ? I have a late 2023 (built in november 2023 5.0L Coyote engine) and it is Flex fuel compatible, although I will not use E85 fuel.

The manual on the website says it was written in August 2023 in the footnote. I think is smart to wait for a revised version.

5.0 is 420 horsepower on E-85 stock so it’s worth 20 horsepower or so. The ECU advances/runs more aggressive ignition timing as ethanol is more resistant to detonation. An aftermarket tune can pull even more power out.

Yours is not a 2024 though. The 2024s have a face lift.
