I have the 8" digital cluster in my F150. The instrument cluster went dark about a month ago for no apparent reason (not a part that should wear out). Seems like it's the back light as when I open the door for the first time in the morning the cluster lights up briefly when the door chimes, then it goes dark. You can hear the directional when in use but cannot see any gauges, fuel level or important messages. Anyone have a fix or experience something similar? The dealership wants to replace the cluster for $1800 but I'm not sold that is the issue.
