Hey guys, just curious if anyone who’s taken delivery of a 2022 has suffered from any of the issues plaguing the 2021?

Rough idles
Burning oil in 5.0
Transmission shudder
Etc etc?

Took delivery 1/7. Had rough idle couple times but nothing major. My biggest complaint so far is a minor paint defect. Everything else has been awesome.

O man, can you explain your idle issues? Just want to make this a data base for Cary over issues.

Just very minor rough idle on cold starts for maybe one to two minutes. Almost like a very minor "skip". I've only got 600 miles on mine though so nothing I'm concerned about at this point.

That’s good to hear man. Mine had it from the go and it’s progressing. Not a misfire issue, more likely a tranny issue with temp but apparently ford has a solution and it states oiling as the issue. Dealer is buying back my 2021 due to it.

The 3.5 ecoboost is actually programmed to miss (not really, but essentially timing is messed with a lot which causes unstable combustion) when cold to light off the cats faster for emissions reasons. My first experience with this was on a Genesis twin turbo V6 I had before my truck, which also missed during cold high idle. Then I came across the 3.5 ecoboost explanation and assumed it was the same deal.

Here is a publication referencing it. I am able to access the full report through a former college affiliation, but the abstract that can be read free at that link gives a good idea of it.

Transmission shifting is not as smooth as I was hoping (coming from the Mercedes world) but nothing alarming. I’m hoping that the service bulletin for the 2021 model is applicable for mine. I’ll mention it when I take it in for first service.

I'm coming from a manual, so anything's smoother than my own left foot ;)

I actually purposely tried to pay attention to the 10 Spd transmission and the gas pedal vibration reported by others on the drive home from the dealer yesterday. I didn't notice anything at all. Going to be doing a bit more driving over the coming days but I'm not expecting anything to change.

Yes - sometimes, I can feel the ICE kick on and sometimes it's super smooth. The hard shifting is sometimes when the ICE kicks on and sometimes when it's been on. Sometimes when downshifting and sometimes when upshifting. I haven't determined a solid pattern. (moderate acceleration)
