I purchased a 2022 F150 with a 5 L engine a few months ago and I’m noticing battery drainage. I took it to two different dealerships and one discovered that the caps on the battery were popping up. Both dealerships tested battery and said that is fine. One dealership condemned the alternator and replaced it under warranty. Replacing the alternator did not help the situation. I found an article on Google stating that automatic updates being turned on causes the battery drain coupled with short drives not charging the battery completely. Has anyone else had this issue? And have you found a resolution?

If you do a search on here then you may find just what you said. The Battery management system also seems to prioritize keeping the battery state of charge below 100%, or I think closer to 80% but short trips do not allow enough time for the alternator to fully charge the battery. Many report getting a message on the Ford pass app letting them know that the battery is in a low state of charge. You can put a battery charger on the battery and charge the battery or if the battery is older or cant hold enough reserve capacity anymore then some here have purchased a larger battery and claim that solved the issue, at least temporarily anyway.

After reading some other threads with similar issues stated, I decided to go ahead and replace the battery with a Diehard H7 AGM. I just put it in today and right off of the shelf it has a low SOC so I have it on charge for the night. I also reset the BMS. We’ll see if that helps.

Check wiring harness under passenger seat. There are 2, Unplug the one closest to door and see if the ground is burnt out. Happened to me twice. Causing parasitic drain.
