2021 Powerboost misfire

Has anyone had this issue?

200 miles into a trip at highway speeds my truck started shuttering and misfiring. The following are messages I received in my ford phone app. My return trip in much cooler temperatures (if that matters) did not have any misfires.

-Service engine soon light indicates that your vehicle detected a misfire. The start/stop feature could be disabled when this fault is present.

and the second message

-The powertrain control system has detected a performance issue with the cabin heater coolant pump control circuit or that it may be stuck off

This has happened to me before and the diagnosis was low fuel resulting in the fuel map changing. All the dealer did was reset the code and the misfire condition went away. It didn't make a lot of sense because I had 70 miles left to empty, but now I'm nervous when the fuel is running low.

I hope this solved my issue. Here are the notes from my service ticket:
There is a crack in the exhaust heat exchanger coolant spigots on the top of the heat exhaust exchanger.
Installed NL3Z (18663) A : Tube - Heater water accessed, inspected and replaced the heat exchanger coolant spigots as per Technical service bulletin 51486 instructions. Refilled the coolant.

Odd.
The leaking coolant tubes on the exhaust heat exchanger is not uncommon. I have spares for if/when mine might spring a leak. (Pic)
But I can't imagine how that correlates to a misfire.

You were correct, my misfire was not resolved. It is still happening when I am 150-200 miles into a trip. This time the service engineer soon light stayed on. Dealer read misfire on cylinder 1 and set me up an appointment in a few weeks.

What finally fixed it? My 2021 Powerboost has same issue 50-70 miles into highway trip. Already been to 2 dealers and still not fixed. Only has 19,000 miles!

I ended up buying a 2024 2 weeks ago and now I’m having a vibration issue. I’m so tired of this. I didn’t try changing the plugs and boots. That would have been my next try.

I ended up buying a 2024 2 weeks ago and now I’m having a vibration issue. I’m so tired of this. I didn’t try changing the plugs and boots. That would have been my next try.

I just purchased a 24 Powerboost on Memorial Day. Only 1000 miles on it and 150 miles into a 200 road trip started misfiring on all cylinders with with flashing engine light.

Now its at a dealer 180 miles away for the last 9 days. They still haven't been able to diagnose the problem. They supposedly escalated to Ford help and waiting for a response.

You might have your dealership look into this issue dscussed here?. Wiring harness rubbing on some bracket.
