Hey Gals/Guys,
I need to get my oil changed etc this week and was looking at the manual for my 30k mile maintenance service since I'm at 31,139 miles. I called the Dealership and asked about the 30k maintenance and if that can be done in QuickLane or needs an appt. She said all that is included in the multi-point inspection that goes along with the oil change. I looked at my manual and it shows a bunch of stuff like inspecting axle, u-joints, heat shields, tie-rods, ball-joints, exhaust, rotors, drums, and a bunch more. I used to drive a 2011 XLT and recall the interval maintenance as being different from multi-point inspections, but maybe that's changed. Can someone offer input on if the multi-point inspection covers these touchpoints or if it's a stand-alone service? Is there anything I should get checked with my 21 Plati 5.0 or something to avoid having them upsell me? (I changed my cabin air filter myself last Oct and they sold me an engine air filter last Oct with my last oil change.) [[I have a Ford maintenance plan and the Ford extended warranty.]] Also, should I be getting full synthetic or synthetic blend? The opinions on that are quite skewed in both directions so I never know what I should do - full or blend? I bet I started another argument with this question but I'd like to get some input! Thank you!!! Be kind, my 2011 XLT had zero issues in 10 years of owning it so I am learning as I go with my Platinum. Thanks! -Andrea
