Hello, looking forward to purchase a new f150 and would look to know if it advisable to buy 2021 model f150 at this time with a lower than the sticker price ? I think the 2023 might be out in the next couple months and I’m kind of confused if I should pull the trigger on a last year brand new truck or not .
I do not think much has changed from 21 to 22 .. any thoughts guys ?

From what I know... "Mid July 2021" was the major change. If you get a 2021 bult after that, you should feel comfortable that you're getting a "current" F150.

But... I'd check the undercarriage for rust.

It's a sign that it was half built and parked for weeks/months and you DON'T WANT one of those.

I think the 21 line up started to be built from 2020 , is there a way to know the date from a VIN ?

I assume you found a 2021 on a lot ready to purchase? If you want a truck soon, go with it. If your willing to wait 3 to 18 months, order a 23

Yes on the lot . New 22 or 23 models are the same as 21 but the pricing has increased on the new orders comparatively which is why I’m thinking about the 21 model

2023 will be significantly more expensive then 2021, if you getting under sticker right away I will go for it. 2023 many features will be removed so be cautious to look for that too.

Not without a lookup resource to get vehicle info from the VIN. The easiest way to get the build date (month) when looking at vehicles on the lot is this sticker on the driver door frame:

Ford F-150 2021 F150 Purchase DATE STICKER

I'm very curious what kind of F150 priced under 2021 MSRP sits for almost a year unsold. Is it pink or something?

Most dealers will link to the sticker on their website.

"...my$0.02" With inflation the way it is, your comment means nothing. Just kidding.

That's what I was wondering. Maybe it was delivered to the dealer without a chip(s) and sat until Ford sent parts?

Actually... you're probably right!

Where else are you going to get ANY GEN14 F150, rust or not?

Just make sure and pay whatever you have to pay for the ESP!

Reddy, there were several features deleted between the 21 and 22 model year. I suspect the same will happen between 22 and 23. I have a 22 King Ranch and was disappointed when I saw the 21's. I also have a 22 KR on order and do not want it rolled over to 23. Ford has deleted features from my order, and I expect 23 to be "lighter" on all models, especially upper trims.

And you should be able to get a good deal on an unregistered 21. Check www.JoinYAA.com and see if you can find this truck. You don't have to join, but they do have a vehicle search. You will be able to dig down under dealer info and find out how many days this has been on their lot. This could a custom unicorn that someone got tired of waiting for and backed out. Most dealers will not order a CrewCab 6-1/2' bed because it will not fit in most garages. And look at the window sticker at the middle bottom, under Total MSRP. If it says something like Custom Order ... someone backed out.
