Morning All,

First Post !

I have a "new to me" 2021 Lariat with ~45,000 miles on it. Owned it for about 6 months. Like it thus far. Except,

Issue: This happened twice so far. On a cold day (<10 degrees F), I roll down the drivers side window, and then it will not roll back up. Both times with snow blowing in the cab, I had to drive home shivering. Both times I fiddled with the window button "10 seconds down, then 10 seconds up" and after a few times it worked again. Kind of a PIA. Is there a software (or hardware) fix I can have the dealer implement for this, or is it something I'll need to live with? One would think, given the cost of these vehicles, that these little issues would have been addressed already. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg

Might be a low probability cause but a simple check of the fuses for improper seating. Might make the connection when it's warm.

Half of my fuses were not seated properly.

The mirror is also powered by the DDM so if it still works it's not a fuse issue. Sounds like it's getting frozen. Might want to check the lubrication of the window regulator. When I get into a door I check the rails. I've already lubed all of mine.

Thanks Guys,

Two good ideas (fuse + lubrication), but the only thing not working, that I recall, was the drivers window, and there was no warm up time (with the window open, and snow blowing in) from when it didn't work, and when it did work after some messing with the 10 seconds down/10 seconds up reset guess.

I've had this occur twice. In each case the window began working again after a minute or two. What I've done is do not lower the window more than about 3/4s. So far it hasn't failed doing that.

That's going to be the solution until it happens again. As I mentioned previously, given the cost and sophistication of these vehicles, this problem should not exist.
