I purchased a new F-150 Lariat 502A truck in February 2022. When I purchased the truck I was able to connect to Apple Car Play using my Apple X phone. I did not have to use the cable to connect to Sync 4 screen, it connected via Bluetooth and worked well. Some time in mid May Apple Car play stopped connecting wirelessly and now I have to plug my phone in via a cable to get Apple Car play to function. I have tried to delete my I iPhone X and reinstall but it still requires me to connect via cable to use Apple Car play. Did Ford make a change to only allow you to use Apple Car Play with a wired connection? Have other experience this issue? Appreciate any help that you can provide in helping me to use Apple Car Play wirelessly.

In Settings>General>CarPlay, does your vehicle show under My Car? If not , is it under Other Cars? If it already is showing under My Car, go in and forget the car and redo the process of adding it. If the vehicle doesn't show at all, it may be a sync 4 issue.

Yes, my phone does shows under My Cars in CarPlay.

You maybe right it might be a Sync 4 issue.

Thanks!

Mine did the same. Try resetting your Sync 4 by holding down the power button and the "skip right track" on the steering wheel until it reboots. That fixed my problem.

Update: Brought my truck into Ford Service today for a couple of recalls. The completed the recalls successfully. Had them check to see why I can't connect to Apple Car Play wirelessly. The tried and were able to connect a couple of Apple I phones with any issue to my truck wirelessly. The two phones they connected were Apple I3 i-phones. My is an Apple X (or 10) and they were not able to connect my phone to Car Play wirelessly. They said it must be an issue with my Apple I phone X running on IOS Version 15.5 software. Frustrating to have the feature to comment wirelessly and not I have to use a cable to connect to CarPlay! Any one else having the same issue with an Apple I Phone X?
