I bought my truck with 11K on it. Wondered why someone traded it in for a Chevy. I'm not going to buy a Chevy but I'm starting to wonder less. Here is the list of current issues at 17K:
1. Speed sign recognition turns itself off
2. Speed tolerance doesn't set the speed right. Currently set at 5 over. coming into a 35mph zone it sets to 42. going into a 65 it bumps my speed to 74,
3.I can't set my CC to any speed but 71 mph. If I'm set at 70 and push the + once, it skips to 72. That's not a big deal, but really odd.
4. Last night my lane assist decided to quit working.
Has anyone else had these issues? What did you do. My software is set to auto update.
oh and the apple watch app is a POS too. Constant problems with that

I also have a 22 King Ranch SD. That doesn't have copilot but is pretty well loaded otherwise. That hasn't given my any issues at 16K and I like it enough I was considering upgrading that to a 23. This F150 has me reconsidering any changes. My impression at this point is Ford is releasing technology that isn't ready

It sounds like most of your issues are software related, depending on the build date of the truck there are many updates that could be applied to correct these issues. Early 21 trucks require the most and some had stuck OTA systems. Many of the updates your truck may need can only be applied at the dealership or you could take them on yourself with FDRS.

I would start by asking someone to check for fdrs updates at the link below. Someone can help you there.

Thank you. I think I’m going to take kit to the dealer and have them go through it. I’m just afraid they might have it for a while.

The dealer had my 2021 Lariat for over a month last spring and it came back in worse shape than when I dropped it off. There tech's may be good at mechanical things. But thet suck at anything requiring a laptop and programming. They will not update your truck they apparently "don't get paid to do updates " unless you spell out a specific problem that can be addressed with software they won't fix it. I ended up doing all of the updates myself with FDRS and help from people on the forum. All of my issues disappeared after 12 hours of updating.

I'm going to have to agree with the the pessimism regarding a dealership solving your problem.

By the way, although you listed those as 4 different things wrong with the truck, I could argue they are related. What fixes one, fixes them all.

Odds are one scan of the truck with FDRS would reveal which module(s) is the culprit. And as stated earlier, a software update or procedure would solve the issue.

There's a wealth of information on how to take these matters into your own hands and free yourself of the aggravation of dealing with the dealership. Maybe in the future they will be more capable of addressing these kinds of issues, but their current record is disappointing.

I'm terrified to update my 2021.

So far, the worse "quirk" I have is A.S S. seems to have a mind of it's own.

Unless you count "lane centering" getting confused on windy roads but I find that more amusing than annoying.

Half way into the oncoming lane it says "f'k this .. I'm DONE! You're on your own buddy!!"

lol

Well you guys are real confidence boosters! ? yeah, what you said is exactly what I’m afraid of. I admit to be intimidated about messing with my computer. I have forscan and the only thing I’ve been brave enough to attempt is making it not blow the horn if I let it run and walk away with the key.
The recent lane keeping problems may be because it was dirty? It’s seems like the truck should tell you if that was the issue. I washed it but now there’s too much snow on the road to attempt lane keeping anyway. The little bit I could use it that seemed to be better. The speed tolerance is still jacked up though. I have a couple acquaintances at the local dealership. I’ll inquire about the service tech’s skills
Thank you for your input! ?

Consumers can't get complacent with the software issues and dealerships inability to diagnose and repair such issues. If that becomes the norm,,,what's next? Don't let your dissatisfaction go unnoticed with the dealer and more importantly the mother ship which is Ford.

Your dealership refuses to do the software updates that Ford sends out? I'd lodge a complaint about that. Total BS.
