2021 Door Open Chime Problem

Hey Everyone!

Weird thing happening. You know the default chime that sounds when you have the key in the ignition and then open the door? Well that sound has started to happen periodically while I am driving. No errors, doors are all closed, seatbelt is on (I know it is a different sound anyway), but I just can't figure out what is going on. Any of you ever had this happen, or know what might be the issue?

I think there is a setting that plays warning chimes when you drive by a school zone or if you exceed the speed limit and maybe other triggers. I remember finding it and turning it off.

Found this in an old post from this site:

There is a setting for the connected navigation that sounds this alert when approaching a school zone. It can be turned on or off in the map settings.

I searched the owners manual and couldn't find the setting. I'll look at some info I might have saved from when I got my truck.

Well, I went to the settings in the navigation and the "more settings" is greyed out stating that I need a subscription to access it. So, does that mean I am stuck with the sound or does that mean this wasn't the issue?

It has to be something else. Try to narrow it down to more specic scenario, i.e. is it during the day or at night, certain speed, wiper on/off, etc.... It might be a case where someone (from this forum or dealer) will have to scan your truck to see if there is a little something wrong. I know for myself sometime I have to put back my lights to auto so I don t get the door chimes when I get in.

Interesting, I did get two dings today in my truck at different locations. My truck did connect to my phone via bluetooth and the android did warn me that I was approaching a school zone. First time it ever did this to me. Potentially something that you could look into if this could be the cause of your "problem".

So, you think it is phone related maybe? I am always connected through Bluetooth to Apple CarPlay.

I think it might be related but not sure, just try to drive without your phone being connected for few days. If your chimes stopped then I will suspect that yout the alarm from your phone to your truck
