After driving 1000 miles with the new pcv valve/valve covers, oil consumption continued, using a quart of oil. The technician performed another scope and found scores and brown spots on the 6th cylinder wall. Next steps -->> install new short block assembly. Currently have 42300 miles on a 21 KR.Compression test and scope passed OK. Did not see issues. The tech found oil throughout the PCV valve (which was replaced 2 months ago) as well as oil in the intake manifold. Conclusion was that the valve covers should be replaced due to defective baffle system. Will now monitor to determine resolution.
Edit - I also found on NHTSA site that Ford had issues with valve cover baffle systems on 2015-19 (?) 5.0L Coyote engines.
