I'm sorry to revive a thread from the dead but have a question.

I just got my 6112's installed on my '21 2.7 FX4. My installer said he can only set it to the 2nd to highest perch. And that for my truck, it is advised to not set it to the last perch for the highest setting, I don't recall why. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I really want it on the highest perch to reduce my rake a tad bit more, any workarounds or solutions or can I actually just set it to the highest perch?

spring rate vs the weight of the 2.7. theyre worried itll sit too high and cause issues like CV angle or more importantly ball joint strain on the UCA. Bilstein has some literature about the height settings on their website I believe.

Thanks for responding, the CV doesn't appear to be bad at all from what I see, I wonder if I upgrade my UCA's I can get on the last perch. I'll reach out to Bilstein.

agreed, looks good, i'd prolly go for the next setting too. when you jack the truck up how much down travel do you have? IFS only has x amount of down travel. lets say 8" to make it easy. stock ride height youre probably at 4" up travel and 4" down travel. Now if we level it with 2" of lift, you are down to 2" of down travel and 6" of up travel. You can see what will happen if we keep pushing the limits of the geometry of the stock arms.

changing ride height does not change the overall arc that the wheel swings in. it just changes the "resting" point. This is why i always laugh at the "well if i level my truck will bigger tires clear" sure, they'll clear until you actually cycle the suspension on your way to starbucks hitting curbs.
