my asbuilt for 6f0-01-03
6F0-01-03 B001 AB no other characters
i am not sure if its been modified in that area, i have not in forscan
Thanks @powerboatr That shows that the Brake on/off circuit is enabled on yours. Which makes sense. Maybe @Hickory will show his to be disabled. May be a few easy forscan changes to get it working. Unless his shows enabled. :curse:

@antho I'm waiting on my extended license to be renewed and then I will login with Forscan and see what I have for that address.

I did receive a email back from Leer this morning. Here is the info they sent;

For powerboost models where the aftermarket third brakelight connection is dead, the BCM can be tapped in to as an alternative. For a no-splice solution, 7-way harness 300200 can be used.

The stop signal is located in connector C2280E of the BCM. The wire is yellow with a gray stripe in pin 13. You might also be able to trace the wire to the passenger door sill for easier access, but I have not confirmed this.
So it does look like there's a wire I can tap coming out of the BCM if we can't get it done via Forscan. I would definitely prefer to be able to do it via software, looks like the wire the Leer is referencing might be a serious pain to fish out and tap into. I'll report back as soon as I get Forscan back up and going!

It is
The leer connections for unlock. Brake etc are under drivers door sill plate.
Leer guy here said they splice into trucks wiring,
I opted not to do that.
Still working a work around on autop popthe lock on topper
nothing give me more willies than hacking into the harness, will nilly
there has to be a connection point somewhere we shall find it

SUCCESS! Thank you @antho and @powerboatr! I was able to compare my asbuilt to powerboatr's and change the values at 6F0-01-03 to match his and now she is outputting voltage just like she should.

Thanks again for all y'all's help and I hope some other PB owners can use this thread to help on their installs.

Installers tap into the wire that feeds the rear brake lights.

Its overkill (perhaps) but you might want to consider adding the gooseneck bed outlet. Not only do you get wiring for the cap, but also a 12v source of power in the bed. Gooseneck wiring

@Calson You can do that on trucks that have a bulb for the blinker and a different bulb for brake but if both blink when you turn on the blinker (like mine) then you end up with a 3rd brake light that blinks every time you turn on your blinker.

@Henfield I think this may run into the same issue as tapping the wire that feeds the brake lights. That is also the wire for the blinker so you end up with a blinking third brake light. Also, I blew my budget on the cap! Was trying to do this without spending any more money.

@Hickory I hear you on budget busting caps. I originally thought I'd get one, but had too little time to get one before I hit the road. Ended up with a tonneau cover for $340 that is just fine. $3-4k for a cap just seems silly money. Doesn't stop me from watching FB marketplace.

They are wrong.
Upffitter book is clear about tapping wires on brakes etc..
That's why they put the wire in there
Ford dropped ball by not running it to rear of truck..like they used to

If you think about it

25 feet of wire x number of trucks x cost per foot = $ saved. Also, how many owners need that brake light connection.

Years ago, there was a electronic adapter that changed brake/turn lights into single brake and turn lights. If I remember, it could work both directions.
