Hello all, I am new to the forum. I am posing this hoping to help/get help with some of the upgrades I did this past weekend. I upgraded my 23' STX to the 12" cluster and the 12" center stack screen. I managed to get everything working without any major issues but I have some problems hopefully someone can point me into the right direction.
1) One thing I was hoping to get out of this upgrade was to have the full screen CarPlay, but after the install I cannot get the APIM to update. I can connect the truck to Wi-Fi but the update screen says "Up to date". Is there anyway to force an update? I have read some forums on FDRS and a mongoose cable, but would like to try other alternatives first due to cost.
2) The truck is no longer working with FordPass. My app just says activation pending. I have enabled all of the remote start features and related features to the connected vehicle setting. When I try to go into the connected vehicle tab in the infotainment screen it fails and takes me to the previous screen.
3) The reverse camera is terrible with the new screen. I was honestly thinking the 8" screen was terrible, the contrast was pretty poor but I found out the higher trim trucks have a digital camera vs an analog camera. Has anyone attempted an upgrade on this?
4) I keep getting a Code 2100U - Initial Configuration Not Complete. Not sure what I can do to make it go away it is related to the IPC upgrade.
The overall installation and programming was easy. I did not replace the dash trim for the cluster upgrade, I plan on doing that at another time but the parts were a little more than I wanted to spend at that time.
Some other features I enabled on the cluster was the option to display the speed limit sign and it works well even without the 360 degree camera system. Navigation also seems to work really well and after programming any error codes went away except for the one above. I was hoping to add the mirror reverse tilt option but it doesn't seem to work I am assuming because I don't have the power folding mirrors, I was thinking just the glass would tilt down.
I will try to find all the part numbers for the parts I used in this upgrade and post them for those wanting to do this.
