Is there history of someone getting an email from ford or the ford site saying their vehicle was delivered and being prepared, but turned out to be false and it was still awaiting shipment? I haven’t seen that yet.
I have not heard of that.

The vehicle was "delivered" in the system but the dealer wasn't aware of it. Oddly enough, the vehicle was dropped off at night with no paperwork or keys so the dealer was trying to figure out what happened before they called me. Apparently Ford is using 3rd party shippers lately (at least for the Buffalo, NY area) and they aren't as familiar with the process...or they just don't care. Either way, some vehicles were dropped off damaged and some were dropped off without paperwork. Fortunately for me, it was just missing paperwork. I am going to look at the vehicle next week and hopefully figure out a trade in value for my Wrangler.

Dude... Really... Buffalo, NY issues. I am stuck in Albany the past 40 days. Maybe it's a NY thing with shortages... makes me wonder. I am in CUSE... dealership is in MA.

I wasn't talking about shortages which affects all of us. I was talking specifically about how Ford is now using private party, small time, transportation companies to move vehicles. It's causing other problems like damage and no paperwork/keys.

Driver shortages forces Ford to seek alternative delivery/transport services is what I meant. When did you get built if you don't mind me asking...

Once again, Ford is missing a huge opportunity to avoid shipping, why not do like GM and offer pickup at the plant, GM figured it out with Corvettes in Bowling Green KY, so surely Ford could too. keep the transportation fee, roll it into costs to staff a delivery point, I dont know, but I think a lot of people would go for it, but I am sure there is some legal / UAW or union BS that mandates the use of a dealer. I know there are probably a million 100 year old reasons for not doing it. I just got up on my milk crate here for a minute. I will go back to my corner now

I had posted it earlier today but the Ford website went from "awaiting shipping" yesterday to "Final Preparation" today. The dealer didn't even know it was on their lot until this morning as it was dropped off at night which seems crazy to me.

Welp. I called my dealer and he used his fancy new program to see that my truck hasn't moved from the final railyard since 11/28. My ETA was pushed again.

Obviously they are also having issues with end delivery.

I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear. I feel your pain. My ETA is now 12/26-1/2/2023. That will put me furthest out at 65 days or close to ten weeks sitting idle in the yard. Been told truck is not on any hold, never was. Not sure if I can hang on without a vehicle that long. More importantly, what in the f$$k is going on here. Deliveries all around MI... some 22's here and there. Something is in play. Can't be delays for ten weeks in a yard for no other reason but contract hiccups with transport terms or some shit. Why would they let it sit out that long.

I don’t disagree with a word you said man. It’s a valid point. And like you said, I agree, I’m sure there are a million reasons why it can’t/doesn’t work, or/and is not an option. But, point being is, we as the customers, feel like we should have the option and ability to just go get the truck ourselves. Saves the cost/hassle of the shipping, and we still pay the same price. Kind of a win win if you really think about it. Too bad they don’t at least let those who are willing to do it (and pay the same amount) at least have the option.

My truck is still sitting in Mechanicsville, NY. 3 hours away from my dealer in NH. I am from mass, I could just go pick it up..

Oh yeah. How long you been rooted there? My dealer is 80 minutes away. I tried to get them to pick it up. I am 2 hours from there in the other direction. From what I know they have a security gate and the lot is fenced in... but its out in the elements. Otherwise I would have made the trip for sanity reasons.
