Finally built after three week chip hold!:

What options do you have on yours? I am trying to figure out what is holding my truck back. It's nothing against you of course, but DANG if it isn't getting on my nerves seeing trucks very similar to mine ordered after me getting finished.

My order was placed 8/17/22, scheduled 1/6/23, in production 1/11/23 and that's the last update. I've chatted with Ford several times and they never say anything other than "you're on microchip hold, there's nothing we can do, sorry"

I'm wondering if it's related to the fact that I have Continuously Controlled Damping and the On-Board scales with smart hitch options. I don't see a lot of trucks with those options, so I'm wondering if a specific microchip is required for those options that is currently unavailable and thus holding back my truck. Did yours have those options or not?

I didn't have CCD but I did have the On-Board scales and my truck is done. Lariat, 3.5 EB, 502A, BAP, Max Tow, Sunroof, Bed Utility, On-Board Scales, Work Surface, 360 Cam, Pro Power 2kw.

I think that was everything I selected.

Ordered 10/4 Ready for pickup on 1/24, Picking up 2/23

But making a Spray in liner tied to an engine choice makes no sense so why would the build process be any different. No idea what makes some trucks go through seamlessly while others get bogged down.

Good luck.

What kills me is that I didn't especially want CCD or on-board scales. I had texted my salesman about adding FX4 (which would've forced removal of CCD and scales) and he said "sure, no problem, I'll talk to the owner about making that change"

Except it was never done. And the dealership never called me and told me the order was finalized, so I never had an opportunity to do a final once-over and comb through the details prior to the truck being assigned a VIN and scheduled for production. Then when I called them out on it, they said that they're never obligated to alert the buyer that the order is being submitted.

I checked with other dealerships and they said "of course we'd alert the customer prior to the order reaching the point of no return", so I know they're just trying to CYA for their salesman's screwup. So the deadline for any changes to my order passed without my giving my approval to it and the truck will have CCD and scales.

BTW... Come to find out... that salesman is no longer working with the dealership. Go figure. ?

I do have on board scales and smart hitch- but not CCD. I’ll bet you’ll get the same email shortly- In looking at orders since December of last year- there are very few I think of those where chip holds lasted longer than 4-6 weeks (at most- with several shorter to reach “built”). Obviously not the last hurdle- but at least on to the next one.

Here’s hoping you get released soon!

Interesting to hear you have the scales but not CCD. Just makes me wonder if CCD is the hold-up, chip wise?

At any rate... Fingers crossed! Looks like your wait is almost at an end. Enjoy your truck!!

No problem….. you could check Forscan to possibly see what module(s) are associated with CCD (maybe someone can chime in)- and then check your build to see if you have those lines populated. I cross referenced all my modules with Forscan and an almost identical build to mine earlier this week- and wasn’t missing any- but now I’m built, so maybe it’s related maybe it’s not- but it’s a time killer while you wait!

I've been wondering the same thing and are on a similar timeframe as you. I'm order placed 8/8/22, VIN 11/17/22, scheduled 12/19/22 than moved to 1/6/23, in production 1/10/23 and that's the last update.

My truck is SuperCrew 5.0 V8 with 6.5' bed, Platinum 701A, Twin Moonroof, Pro Power 2KW, Max Tow, FX4, Sprayin liner.

I feel for ya man. This has tested my patience, that's for sure!
Right now, I'm feeling very resigned to the wait being even longer than anticipated. I shouldn't have let myself get excited once I started seeing movement on the tracker.

Are either of you guys actually on chip hold? If you don’t know, you can get on Ford chat and they will let you know. Probably won’t tell you what for- or for how long/ but at least you would know. If your build is delayed longer than a week or so- I think that’s probably a good bet- but I don’t think 2023 chip hold is what it was last year, though. Some of those guys were waiting 6 months or longer. I think 4-6 weeks is the longest I’ve seen in ‘23 from blend date to build completion…. But I could be wrong.

Hang in there!

Can confirm, actual microchip hold. I've been on chat with Ford about once a week for the past 3 weeks and each time they've told me "you're on microchip hold. We don't have any other information for you, sorry"

I haven't chatted with Ford, For me it's an assumption that I'm stuck on chip hold. But I may chat with them this coming week and see what I learn. It will be have been "In production" for five full weeks as of this coming Tuesday.

Update Monday 2/13, as expected, per ford chat it’s in production micro chip hold!
