After taking delivery at Chapman, I returned to my sister's house via the PA Turnpike. As soon as I activated the adaptive cruise control, BlueCruise Hands-Free became available. Nice!

However, I had something strange happen after picking up my wife at the Newark Airport early the next morning. Heading south on the NJ Turnpike the Trailer Braking Malfunction message came up along with a couple bells - sometimes as often as every 30 seconds! It wouldn't clear. We stopped at a rest stop to get a bite to eat. Guess the truck reset itself because it didn't happen again the rest of the way to my daughter's in MD.

We are now in VA visiting folks in our old neighborhood before we moved to Florida. Last evening while at a store parking lot waiting for my wife, someone whacked one of my tow mirrors with their side mirror before I had a chance to fold them. I couldn't believe it! Maybe it was a good thing I hadn't folded them or the driver may have taken out the whole side of the truck.

Went to the local dealer, Purvis Ford of Fredericksburg Collision Center this morning to get the estimate. It will cost the folks $1730 -- $1505 for the mirror, $145 for 2 hrs labor to include recalibration, and $80 tax.

Fortunately the repair can be made tomorrow so we can follow our plan to get on the road to FL early Thu morning.

Got that "first scratch" out of the way! Here's a photo of the damage and one of my hillbilly repair to keep out the rain:

Oh, I completely forgot to mention something about taking delivery. While doing my own PDI prior to signing any paperwork, I discovered (as mentioned in other threads on this forum) that every single fuse in the engine compartment fusebox had to be seated. There are quite a few fuses!

Hi Ralph,

Congrats on the truck, and sorry about the mirror! Can't believe that happened already!
Just to confirm, are you saying that most/all of the fuses in this block were loose?

Just bad luck with the mirror. At least the truck should be broken in before you get home.

I wouldn't say they were loose, but I was able to push them in a little further - probably a tad less than 1/16". All of them needed to be seated except the two very large dark square ones.

As an aside, there doesn't seem to be any disabled functionality. I'm thinking back to news articles that Ford was considering the shipment of trucks with some functionality to be added later as chips and modules become available. Everything appears to be working, although I haven't tried the Active Park Assist yet.

I'm at the Purvis Ford Collision Center in Fredericksburg VA having the new passenger side tow mirror installed and calibrated. Quite frankly, I'm surprised they were able to get one overnight. So, back on the road at o'dark 30 in the morning back to Florida!

Hey guys. This recall showed up for me. Any way this could be holding up my truck?

Do you know if your truck has moved from Ramp 5 in New Boston yet? As of yesterday, mine was still there and has been for a week.

Mine stayed at Melvindale Ramp 58 for only two days after being moved there from Ramp 51 in Flat Rock on Mar 24 to 26, when I received the railcar number.

The tracker shows that my truck finally shipped to the dealer and my Sirius XM radio got turned on. The end is finally in sight.... 2022 F-150 Lariat Powerboost Atlas Blue
