After taking delivery at Chapman, I returned to my sister's house via the PA Turnpike. As soon as I activated the adaptive cruise control, BlueCruise Hands-Free became available. Nice!
However, I had something strange happen after picking up my wife at the Newark Airport early the next morning. Heading south on the NJ Turnpike the Trailer Braking Malfunction message came up along with a couple bells - sometimes as often as every 30 seconds! It wouldn't clear. We stopped at a rest stop to get a bite to eat. Guess the truck reset itself because it didn't happen again the rest of the way to my daughter's in MD.
We are now in VA visiting folks in our old neighborhood before we moved to Florida. Last evening while at a store parking lot waiting for my wife, someone whacked one of my tow mirrors with their side mirror before I had a chance to fold them. I couldn't believe it! Maybe it was a good thing I hadn't folded them or the driver may have taken out the whole side of the truck.
Went to the local dealer, Purvis Ford of Fredericksburg Collision Center this morning to get the estimate. It will cost the folks $1730 -- $1505 for the mirror, $145 for 2 hrs labor to include recalibration, and $80 tax.
Fortunately the repair can be made tomorrow so we can follow our plan to get on the road to FL early Thu morning.
Got that "first scratch" out of the way! Here's a photo of the damage and one of my hillbilly repair to keep out the rain:
