Thank you for the very thorough reply!
I intentionally bought a "simple" truck in 2011: XLT 5.0, 2WD in the hopes that it would be problem free and serve its duty well as a farm truck. I haven't been disappointed. Paid $32K. Now has 275,000 miles with what I would only consider maintenance...
Thanks for the good explanation of parameters. Curious--what causes you to possibly lean back toward a flip type if it wasn't for the need of the ladder rack?
Great feedback. At this point, I'm not really happy with anything out there. For whatever style, the compromises are too big. Thus my wheels are turning . . . . Btw appreciate you mentioning "overall sexiness." A sleek, nearly flush, high quality appearance is important to me.
Curious why your preference for a hard tri-fold--and not a retractable? Is it because the retractable just takes up too much space and is also hard to remove?
Yup--that's the one I would choose as well. Expensive, but nice. But with a 5.5' bed, just too much intrusion. If you hypothetically had a 5.5' bed, would you still be okay with it?
Love my 2011 5.0, but considering a 2021 Limited. A great tonneau cover is important, but I’ve been frustrated with what’s out there. Want high security, so won’t consider a soft tonneau.
Hard tonneau covers are basically three types: 1) roll-up, 2) hard folding (e.g., BAKFlip MX4), or 3)...
Did they remove the bed bolts, spray, replace and then spray the bolt areas again? Or just never removed them? Curious if they recommended removal. Recall seeing somewhere that the bed bolts are now one-time use.
All fake. All some form of plastic.
For context, I'm considering a Limited. But even in a Range Rover, for example, the manufacturers are really good in faking the customer out.
