I have to use the two-finger salute in my PB fairly often. Press and hold power and forward seek buttons until it reboots... seems to fix most weird issues for a while. Might be worth giving it a try in your case as well
Worth mentioning: Ford may be having these guys jump right to axle swapping now since it seems that almost always when they do get the bolt out and replace it, it breaks again. Seen that several other times on this thread and it happened to me also. I'm on a new axle now and fingers crossed no...
Those are bots I always ignore those messages I haven't heard of any meaningful discussion that's resulted in those posts. I'll need to get mine on video and bring it in when I get an inspection.
Is there a TSB for this yet that we know of? Would like to have mine looked at as I've heard this too when pointed downhill and cold. I know my dealer will give me the "can't duplicate" BS. If I could reference a TSB or just tell them even when level the fluid is likely low and to check and fill...
TBH I've said this to so many people if I custom ordered my PB I probably wouldn't have spung for the cost of that option, but it's turned into the most valuable thing on my truck. Really is such a great feature
It will break again, then they will replace the axle shaft, this seems to be the 'script' they have to work with. I have put some decent milage on a new axle shaft without any further issues, so I'd say hopefully this is the permanent fix
I got my PB preowned... the propower is probably something if I ordered it new I wouldn't have got "I've got a gen what do I need that for??" But the few times I've used it tenting, or powering the camper its been such an awesome feature. Tested it running my house, worked without a hitch...
GFIs work by sensing the current going out, and returning to sense if that current is 'leaking' anywhere ie to a human body.
What lifting the ground does on these trucks is force the return current to take the path back on the neutral wire, rather than neutral or ground. It would normally pick...
New axle arrived sooner than I was expecting. Got a call from the dealer earlier expecting to hear some wild and crazy lead time, and to my surprise they were done! Just curious, do we have any evidence of an axle replacement NOT fixing the problem, or have we seen axle replacements solve this...
You're not disconnecting the ground, you're bonding neutral and ground in the truck. by lifting the ground in the trucks connection you're just making the return current flow on the grounded conductor so the GFI can work
