I towed a dual axle trailer with ATV's with a Tacoma, no electric brakes. While some may say that's nuts, it was never an issue. Your truck will be fine without the brakes, but it certainly doesn't hurt to add that capability.
There are numerous threads in this forum covering your questions...
Android Auto skips for the 1st 20 seconds or so after start up. It will occasionally play for a few seconds then pause, also after start up. I have to hit the play button to resume playing the music. It started recently, must be an issue with the latest update? I have a 22 Lariat.
Not related to the question asked, but I've had spotty success with my stickers. Mine is a 22, so the yaw wasn't available any longer. Im not comfortable using the pro trailer, but when I've attempted to use it, it ends up losing the trailer and the truck applys the brakes. I've...
Hanmer the gas? Makes sense. I always heard pulling the TT brakes was the way to handle it, hill, flat or otherwise. Hopefully I never end up in that situation.
I have just over 11,000 miles on my 3.5 eco with 3.55's. I did get above 24 according to the trucks calculations one time. That was during a 60 mile highway drive in light traffic. Average speed was right around 60mph. As soon as traffic cleared and I got back to normal speeds, around 70-75...

He doesn't care about my experience with 3.5 eco and 3.55 gears even though I have a larger camper than he does. .
I agree with you for the most part. I do like to make efforts for better economy when I tow, but as long as the trans is happy I'm good.
I had a thread about a 1000 mile trip I took at Thanksgiving. From PA through Virginia I got about 7-8 mpg. South of Virginia I almost doubled. I assume the...
I have a buddy in the market for a new truck, he isnt interested in my setup, which is SCrew, 6.5 bed, max tow, 3.5 with 3.55 gears. He wants the 5.0 with the taller gears. Does anyone have any real world fuel economy experience to share?
Thanks in advance.
For the record, my truck tows like...
As someone above already stated, check the trailer. Tires, bearing especially. As long as the hitch is correct for the weight of the trailer, the truck will be fine. If the tires are bad or the bearings are bad you could put yourself and others on the road at risk. Nothing worse than a...
