  1. XLT Universal Garage Door Opener?

I didn't even think about a garage door opener not being included until I took delivery of my XLT and discovered it wasn't. Every new vehicle I've purchased since 03 has had it. Certainly expected a $60K, new truck to have it. Still, not a big deal. Had an extra universal laying around and...
  2. Regrets?

Wow, yeah ADM should never be paid in my book. Assume you may have purchased your truck in the last couple of months during the chip/supply chain issues? Inventory was low when I purchased mine back in June, but I just searched online until I found stock and didn't have any ADM back then.
  3. Regrets?

Understood. I suppose it depends on how particular one is. When car shopping I always have a list of 'must haves' and 'nice to haves' in terms of options and features. I make sure I get the things on my 'must have' list and anything else is a bonus. Although I've often had to shop around...
  4. Regrets?

No regrets here yet, but there's still time! Only a little over 3K miles so far. I see a lot of complaints about the order process. I've purchased a lot of vehicles over the years and have never been tempted to place an order before they are on dealer lots. Pricing is usually high early on...
  5. CCD VS FX4

The FX4 does sit a bit higher than the std 4x4, and more so in the back than the front. The difference is small enough to where you have to see them side by side to notice it. But, agreed, if you don't do much off-roading, that $ is likely better spent elsewhere. I tried the hill descent...
  6. CCD VS FX4

Excuse my ignorance, what is 'CCD'? Other features of the Fx4 include locking rear diff (maybe on others too?), and hill descent control. I think the FX4 also gives a tiny bit of additional ground clearance due to the suspension difference. Mostly it looks like they sit a little higher in...
  7. About 535 hours of life so far for my Powerboost

I left one of my trip meters as well. Haven't checked the hours, but I'm averaging a lifetime 21 mpg. Did the same with my 20 Jeep Gladiator. With the 3.6, normally aspirated engine, it managed just 17mpg lifetime. So, the Powerboost compares very favorably considering it's much heavier and...
  8. What kind of MPG mileage are you getting with your Powerboost?

This is exactly right in my experience. That's what I like about this truck, you can drive it like a muscle car and enjoy the power, or you can drive conservatively and enjoy the efficiency. Following the "coaches" and driving carefully, the mileage can be pretty impressive for full sized...
  9. How much fuel do I REALLY still have...?

I don't have the answer but have noticed a similar issue. I towed a small pop up camper for 600 miles RT. Typically the range on a full tank is over 600 miles, I noticed when topping up the tank mid trip the range had dropped to 500 miles and change. After we came home, I parked the truck for...
  10. What's your drive mode of choice?

"Normal" 90% of the time. A little sport mode here and there for fun. Tow/Haul mode I use only steep grades while towing. I've found that driving carefully, I can almost match mileage from Eco mode in Normal and still have all power available if needed.
  11. Show me your flat surface bench jump seats 40/20/40

Yeah, love the jump seat itself, but don't use the work surface and would rather have the old style, jump seat console. I have done long trips with it thought and it's actually not too bad comfort wise, but would be better if it were a normal pad.
  12. 2021 3.5 EcoBoost vs PowerBoost? Can't Decide

Yes, the 3.73's are available on any of the EB's it looks like. I have them on my Powerboost 3.5 EB, and they were also on the Lariat 3.5 I tested. see page 4-5 here: https://www.ford.com/cmslibs/content/dam/brand_ford/en_us/brand/resources/general/pdf/guides/21Towing_Ford_F150_Dec3.pdf
  13. Antimatter Blue is BLACK

I can relate. I chose Antimatter Blue mostly because it wasn't red, the color of my Jeep gladiator I was trading in. Nothing wrong with red, but change is good. I do like the color though. Had a Kona Blue Mustang in '12 and the antimatter reminds me a little of that but darker. Color shifts...
  14. Hands On Opinion -- Half Ton Truck Interiors Compared: 2021 F-150 vs Tundra, Silverado, Sierra, Gladiator, Ram 1500 ?

Went from a 2020 Gladiator Overland to 2021 F150 XLT Powerboost. The Gladiator was a good little truck and I enjoyed it for nearly two years with no issues at all. Pros: No other truck has removable doors and roof, fun factor. Off Road performance even in the Overland model I had was really...
  15. Raptor vs Powerboost Lariat Sport thoughts?

I would've loved to have a Raptor, but have you seen the prices lately? The mark ups on the new ones are so high, they aren't really comparable to normal F150's in price . In my area I'm seeing used 2018-19's going for over $60K with over 50K miles. New ones are hard to find and if you do...
  16. 2021 3.5 EcoBoost vs PowerBoost? Can't Decide

No worries. As mentioned, I really couldn't tell the difference back to back and I like to think my butt dyno is fairly well tuned after years of driving muscle cars and drag racing a few.
  17. 2021 3.5 EcoBoost vs PowerBoost? Can't Decide

I have noticed a little hesitation in normal mode, but Sport mode seems to get rid of it
  18. 2021 3.5 EcoBoost vs PowerBoost? Can't Decide

It was actually in a thread within this very forum, someone had posted it. Here you go: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/f150-3-5-ecoboost-tested-by-motortrend-warning-no-politics.4982/
  19. 2021 3.5 EcoBoost vs PowerBoost? Can't Decide

I test drove both, back to back before buying my PB. The EB was a pretty decked out Lariat, while the PB I ended up buying was a well optioned XLT. Here's the surprising thing; I couldn't tell the difference between the two in acceleration (sport mode on both, both 3.73 gears). One of the car...
  20. PSA: Check your fuses for full seating!

Cool. I haven't had any issues either though I don't have as many miles yet. Sounds like "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" would apply here.
