It's possible they are releasing a recall and "re-wickering" the whole 21G01 process with more detail and better instructions because so many techs are floundering with the way 21G01 is written now.
Might be the same files, just a different update process I what I'm suggesting.
I did mine in...
I did watch that and was encouraged when Slappy made mistakes and then regrouped, went at it again and persevered.
One thing I didn't understand though was the arrangement of all the cables. Why was there a need for a double ended USB A pigtail and then the USB A to...was it a USB micro? Or B...
I sense that you may not have been following all the traffic on other threads regarding getting BC.
You can get an adapter for your win10 laptop, FDRS license, and a 20A powersupply, and do it yourself.
Or you can make an appointment with your local dealer referencing the attached 21G01...
I thought of that but didn't the 21G01 program already spell out the number of labor hours they were supposed to get to do the BC update?
That's why I thought this might be something different. But you could be right. Maybe they've come to the realization of the actual labor required. Anyway...
Had an interesting conversation with my salesman a few minutes ago. Checking on my Lightning order build date etc. as well as discussing the whole BC updating and the TRM recall. Lots of generalized stuff, and then he tells me their tech was talking to him this morning and passed on some news...
Jesse, thanks for that. I've updated the PCM this morning, took about 5 mins.
Any tips on getting the pesky GSM to clear? I've done it like three times now.
Mike
I don't think anyone with Bluecruise and FORSCAN skills have investigated that yet. But that 80 MPH limit might just be there due to the fact that your APIM and IPMA etc. may not have sufficient processing power to react any faster than what would be considered safe at 80 MPH.
This is the same...
It did indeed and because the 12v battery in the Mach-E is not anywhere close to the capability of the one in my F-150 PB it got seriously dragged down during the longer updates. Remember, you're meant to be doing these updates KOEO so you're in "Accessory" mode not full on.
The F-150 updates...
The IPMA is the most challenging of the modules I've done. It was about 3+ hours on both my F-150 PB and my Mach-E. The Mach-E was fairly scary at one point when my 20A powersupply couldn't keep up with maintaining the voltage above 11v, and I had to pull the PB alongside and run jumpers from it...
Jesse, how does one go about side-loading? Is there a written procedure for this? Is it similar to the process used to UF the APIM that's stuck at 1.7.1?
Mike
I initially got a 50% battery charge reading when I connected up the ProLogix charger/powersupply to mine, and it took maybe 5 minutes to get to full charge.
I would not attempt to do these updates without the minimum Pro-Logix PL2320 20A charger (or equivalent) to keep the voltage up while...
Did you follow the sequence of module updates shown in the procedure? Jesse-Infotainment may be able to provide some insight as to what needs to happen now. I can tell you that when I started doing my updates my Sync version was already at 244. Based on guidance I got from this forum (before the...
Yeah you mean like the IPMA as an example? It took me several hours to do that one in FDRS. I have no idea how that would work as an OTA. Must be sideloading as you're driving the vehicle and then updates after you shutdown and restart. Dunno.
Still....nightmare scenario.
Mike
It did get updated to Synch ver 358. And when I used cruise control I got a message that BC was on and to pay attention......and fifteen seconds later I got told to keep my hands on the wheel!
So when I got back home I connected up the computer and ran a network scan again and the APIM...
You're exactly correct. Took about 3 hours. As I watched the blocks go by I realized they were getting done at a rate of about two per second.
I did the APIM this morning and it went okay except for the last part. It took, but I never got the message to remove the thumb drive and reinsert it...
Well it's finally started on Block 5 of 5 (of the IPC) ...with only 28,180 blocks to write at an average of 1 block per second...around 7 hours and 49 minutes...so if nothing goes wrong it should finish around 0100 in the morning tomorrow. I'll set my alarm......
Mike
Doing updates all day today and started with the GWM, went well (via USB), so moved on to the IPMA which dragged in a bunch of it's dependencies for updating as well.. all good.
Did the PCM which also updated some of it's friends....still good.
Haven't seen the TCU needing an update, but I did...
