Tell your friend I totally sympathize? … being one of those mid life guys with “an extra pound or two”! this was one of my ‘must-have’ options when I spec’d out my ‘21!! Have since come across a few guys my age and funny thing… we ALL included this option!
Quite right… my mistake, the super duty units built at the Kentucky truck plant are the ones sitting at the Kentucky speedway parking lots.
Sorry for the incorrect posting.
OP’s gat a good question though… are there any part built F150s from the Claycomo plant gathering dust in the greater KC...
i think that is true. On another thread i read someone saying they got wheel well liners from the parts counter at their local dealer. Unless Ford is completely unhinged, why would they provide optional parts for the dealers to make, oh i dunno $50 bucks profit? at the expense of deferring...
Don’t believe Kansas parked any trucks?? I guess you didn’t see the well publicized photos of the Speedway? Mostly super duty units but a bunch of F150’s as well…

We ordered exactly the same day but my salesman didnt submit till 31st… I guess he was trying to squeak another sale into the March reports.
My wife has a similar sense of humour…. Whenever we pass an F150 she says “look away Hon! Don’t make eye contact”!
Super useful post Pete! It’s easy to get distracted by the constant buzzing about “a truck is built every 59 seconds”.
Understandably we fall into the trap of extrapolating this 59 second increment x 8 hours x 3 shifts etc… understandable really, we’re all recklessly optimistic when it comes to...
I’m in the same boat… who knew a couple of flimsy plastic parts would delay construction of a $60,000 truck.
When I inquired I was told that once the VIN was issued, no changes allowed. One would have to start again from scratch.
Sounds like my story…I was 6/14 for a time… but now I’m 7/19.
I’m a KC build and ordered 3/31 and originally sched for 5/17 build.
Also have the 1990 ETA.
the only lead I can give you is stay on top or your salesperson or dealership. They can see more than we can but even they are mostly in the...
Mainly engines, options and model types… although as I understand it, my XLT 302A with the 2.7 could be built in either plant… I guess then it’s down to resource leveling and production capacity.
I’m just picturing someone trying to navigate this massive 145” WB crew cab down one of the lane ways they call ‘roads’ in some of the tiny villages I’ve travelled to in Italy, Spain Ireland etc.. it’s good for a laugh.
Certainly shipping to the US is strictly controlled, but to Europe, an...
I thought exactly the same thing. Ford loves to brag that they sell nearly 2x their closest competitor, Ram… I’m sure they’ll be reluctant to give up bragging rights. I know Ram is having similar problems, but at my local dealership at least there was a half dozen units on the Ram dealers lot...
I hope they consider retrofitting the seats with that godawful vinyl from the 80's as well.
There was nothing like tearing off half of your skin on a hot summers' day as your legs welded themselves to the bench seat! ?
Agreed… in many respects, “invoice” is quite irrelevant and people getting all hung up on “invoice less $500” are deluding themselves. It simply doesn’t make sense that the deal ships are incurring a “loss” on every sale.
I don’t pretend to know the business model of the retail car industry...
It’s a Canadian thing I’m thinking… same thing as buying a vehicle without putting a deposit down! I’m not sure that’s even a thing in Canada… then again maybe im an old school sucker.
Assume you had a Dearborn build RayRay? I’m KC so still waiting for the plant to reopen… dealer says I’m sched for July 19 but I’m so jaded now I can’t get excited.
So impressed to converse with another SuperCab fan… we are a real small minority…
Hope you don’t sit waiting for too long.
thanks Dave! I must have missed this.
This looks like it would be quite helpful to our American friends but a bit confusing to us.
Assume these are USD prices? If so is there a standard FOREX? or is it a fluctuating one (whatever the rate is when the invoice is generated to dealer?
at least you have some dates filled in... i ordered in March and i have squat for production dates. Just some fairy tales from my dealer which change like weather.
