I drove the following today
2017 3.5 Ecoboost 4x4
138000 miles
Fluid drained and refilled @ 110k miles, never rebuilt or reprogrammed.
It was the smoothest 10 speed Ive ever driven... Go figure
I'll definitely say that you don't need an amp for the non-B&O system. The bass roll off is a total non-issue. On my 7 speaker non-amped system, I have way more bass than I need with the HS10 and some front block off plates.
Just make sure to wire the sub up to the front speaker lines.

Tongue weight is just automatically 10% of tow rating per Ford.
If you want to eek out more, get the Max Tow Axle + Towing Package -> preferable the 3.5 or 5.0. Powerboost and 2.7 don't have much payload.
5.0 3.31 - 9300
5.0 3.73 - 10400
5.0 3.73 Max Tow Axle - 12900
3.5 3.31 - 10400
3.5...
You can also look at the ford towing payload calculator for a truck like this

Here is an example of a 2022 5.0 XLT 302a 4x4 crew cab that has 1979 lbs of payload.
The GVWR base number for 2024+ trucks increased by 50 lbs but also is reduced by the standard 36 gallon tank which this truck does not have.
18" wheels also help your case here.
If you're willing to get a truck without the tailgate step/pro-access tailgate, power deploying running boards, panoramic roof, you can pretty much get anything you want and have 1600+ lbs of payload.
If you skip the powerboost, you can get close to 2k lbs in payload on a nicely equipped truck...
Congrats! Everyone's recommendations will vary, but here is what I recommend (I think lots would agree with me)
Transmission fluid @ 25k, then every 50k after that
Differential Fluids every 50k
Full Synthetic engine oil every 5k, 3K if towing
If you have an ecoboost, lock out gears on uphill...
I would add that I believe you'll get lucky more often with 23+ transmissions since they all have the updated CDF drum. 22's built after August I think have it too.
Look into the PCM update if your 1-3 shift has always been bad. A PCM update when I had my 21 powerboost helped a lot. See https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/powerboost-tsb-harsh-1-3-upshift.7204/
sorry to hear. Forscan is free and very easy to use. I've found that switching drive modes and fuel octane a lot really confuses things.
And transmission drain + new filter makes things better a lot of the time.
25,000 Miles on my 2022 Truck
5.0 Liter Engine
Transmission Fluid changed?
No.
Issues Encountered:
- clunkiness if I change fuel octane and drive modes often
- sometimes takes a while to go from 8 -> 5 @ 50 mph when I need to goose it.
Been mostly OK, not the smoothest 10 speed I've...
For the most part all of the motors 21+ have been great, especially compared to previous generations.
10 speed is the issue. You either get a good one, or you don't. Change your trans fluid frequently and hope you don't need a new CDF drum.
This matches both times it happened on my old truck to a T. Main reason I sold it.
Hasn't happened once on my buddies powerboost built 4 months before the one I sold.
