Sounds like heatshield rattle. Do you have the factory duals or single exit?

Assuming it's an Ecoboost-sounds to me like a turbocharger wastegate actuator arm sweeping when the engine is cold.

Yes. It’s an eco boost v6 10 speed. Is it something I should be concerned about? Dealer was not able to duplicate the noise on cold start. Truck has 29k km @21k miles.

Where do you hear the noise more? From the front or the rear of the truck? Your video seems to be by the spare tire, while noise does travel it sounds like you were right next to it. I’ve never heard the waste gate rattle in person so I can’t give any insight on that, but keep the truck off and hit your tail pipe with a rubber mallet, you’ll vibrate the entire system and find if it’s a heat shield.

Otherwise, you can see the wastegates almost through your front fender liners, have someone start the truck while your next to the front wheels.

Provided of course that's actually the noise, from some of the stuff I've read on here, it's largely just annoying and all dealer discretion in terms of if they'll do anything about it. Note--this is separate than the wastegate rattle that folks were fixing with springs.

My 3.5 does it most cold starts (regardless of outside temp), I traced it to the arm on the passenger side turbo, and ultimately just haven't dealt with it yet.

You can see the passenger side one really clearly from the top of the engine bay without taking anything off.

the video is from the front drivers side tire wheel well. It seem it’s from the engine or transmission area more towards the central area of the engine

Just saw that video on link provided. It’s the exact same noise. What is the solution to fix this? I will let my dealer know.

Man I don’t know how the hell I was seeing spare tire. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ I’ve seen numerous wastegate noise claims coming up lately. So I think your on the right track.

Truthfully-I don't know for certain. I've read some folks have luck with applying high temp grease to the arm, I think the person in that thread got new turbos. Please let me know what your dealer comes back with!

My Powerboost does this pretty regularly.

I assumed wastegates.
